NorCal-increase in State Ref tickets?
anyone notice a significant increase in people getting state ref tickets? Always here the rumor about agencies starting to crack down on modified imports but never took it too serioiusly. Recently 3 of my friends got pulled over and given state ref tickets. All 3 times they were pulled over for non moving violations. These happened in or around SF Bay area. Anyone else notice this or have info on this?

i guess they made it mandatory for all police agencies to watch the training video with the older guy in the civic gettin pulled over. got me worried cause none of my vehicles have smog equipment.

Fremont police got me for exhuast. I have a Apexi GT spec. Then a week later getting onto the freeway from tennyson going south CHP gave me a ticket for the same thing. So I put the silencer in and so far so good.
I'm scared to drive anywhere with my TII now. The Sheriffs in Cupertino are hot, they seem to be everywhere!! Just being lowered and having 17's makes them take a look. One sheriff sat behind me for about a minute in the lane next to me just looking and listening to my exhaust. He pulled off and did nothing but I was sweating, lol. Fortunately I had my muffler shop put on stock looking Magnaflows just in case that happened. Got lucky I guess!! Still kind of worried though.
i asked my teacher about all this and he got pulled over...Cops can pull over anyone they want right now until the end of june, there passing this "Click it or ticket" thing right now. If its your first offense all you get is a 210$ ticket but if you had a seat belt offense with in the 2years you will get 1 point against your record, also there breaking down on street racing for about 2months now for Tokyo Drift, man w/e you do garage all your cars this weekend that look "raceabul" there will be so many stupid kids drifting everywhere.

I know of 3 people personally that got pulled over (for normal driving) that got state ref. The funny thing is, 2 of those people had cars that looked almost stock less the exhaust and lowering.
This is complete bullshit, after spending thousands of dollars on my car, I can't even go cruise it anymore without worrying about some brainwashed *****-dick cop giving me state ref.
Does anyone know if this is a temporary phenomenon coinciding with Fast and Furiuos 3 and summer or what the whole story is?

seems like their dedicating alot of resources to curb street racing. Whats lame is not everyone that fixes up their car is a street racer. I admit in guilty of it once in awhile but i dont think its fair for the people that are juss minding their own business

unfortunetely the boycott will do nothing because the boycotters represent maybe .001% of the fast and the furious movie watching population.
