NorCal Community Chat Thread v. 3.0- 2010
Bandar,
ok seriously man... they is a boat load of rotards in nor cal and even a handful of so cal folks who'd drive up to tow a car if it's a good deal. If there has been a strong outcry of "no" on purchasing that car without even test driving it. It's with good reason, and I trust alot of the rotards on here. I've seen that posting on craigslist for months, it's not a good buy.
But if you love it, you love it; and you'll just have to go through the heartache and your bank account to get it to where you want it to be. I say this because I bought my 7 for $800 and it looked like a POS but I knew I wanted it the moment I put the key in the ignition. Either way be patient, keep researching, learn about the car before you buy it so you know what to look for.

study and check out the new member tech section too because you'll have 80% of the questions they ask there and have fun!

Whoa whoa guys. Though yeah if you're interested in my car just let me know. Heck before I sell it to you I'll even do a tune up and you can watch and see how some of the more troublesome changes can be done lol
^^Hmm. Good deal. Ill try coming up with the funds and ill send u a pm. Im in no hurry to pick up a car. My car runs like a champ. I was hoping to just pick up a weekend project that i can slowly work on. Yet, i want it to be somewhat reliable. But u guys gave me some great pointers and i appreciate it.

Even though I'm sad mervin is selling his car, it's clean and he's a really good guy.
There's nothing wrong with starting a project with a CLEAN car. Doesn't have to be a half wrecked junker with a blown engine.

I drove Mervin's car... it handles very nice and neutral. It also runs very well and still has its spunk. Plus if you ever get tired of the car Merv will probably buy it back off you when he gets out of the air force lol.
Ha ha seriously. I would have bought back my first rx7 but sadly I think its in a dump somewhere now... or blown in front of someones house =/

Seller says he got the car smogged right before the engine blew. So i got 2 yrs from now to get it smogged again. Which could come up fast if i cant get that engine rebuilt/replaced. Im really leaning to this car being my project car. Im not a drifter or anything but i think itll be fun on the track with some sticky tires.
Nice.
What's new Nor-Cal freaks?
I finally started up my project FD last week after ages. Smoked out the neighborhood for a good 5 min (oil dumped down intake while in "storage"). I did a full rich-man's non-seq. conversion on it, can't wait to drive it around to see the difference but it still needs the front bumper and few more minor parts installed. Soon enough..
May be selling it once I get smog, title/registration sorted, but after spending soo much time on it I'm reluctant.

Definitely, I always bring the old schools to meets if I get a chance.. I don't think the project FD will be on the road anytime soon anyway. It will probably be at least a month before it's roadworthy.
