Need help with a fix-it ticket

So I got a fix-it ticket for my cracked windshield a week ago. I misunderstood it as a warning. But I realized that I actually have to go to court and show proof that I had it fixed.

I seriously don't have the money to do this right now. My neighbor has a broken down seven and I might be able to buy their windshield and attempt to install it myself. But from what I know, I don't think its that easy.

I have until December 15th to go to court and show the ticket has been signed.

Is there anyway to repair this crack? The crack is so small and its RIGHT in front of the rear view mirror so it doesn't even affect normal driving. Is there a way to repair it? I got the car with the crack in the windshield. The crack is VERY shallow, I don't even know how it got there because I can't feel it from the inside or the outside.

I'm still looking for a job and I already spent all my money on parts for my seven this weekend. I don't want to borrow any more money from my parents. They don't even know I have this ticket. I don't want them worrying and not letting me drive anymore, because that will be their first reaction when they hear that I got a ticket even if it IS a fix-it.

How can I get this fixed without replacing the windshield. If I were to replace it, how much would it cost?

The cop let me off easy by just giving me a fix-it ticket. But it still screwed me over pretty bad.

Well yes and no. I posted a while back about how I got this ticket. Cop said I was speeding going 40 in the 35 zone. He had no radar to back this up. But I was already in pretty deep sh*t driving my buddy and not actually having insurance myself. The car had insurance but it was still under my dad's name because we got the car before I got my license. A point on my record would mean I won't be able to drive by myself and I probably wouldn't be able to afford insurance until I'm 18. So I would say he let me off easy with a fix-it ticket.

Just the worst possible fix-it ticket.

acid: I've been doing some research on google and it seems there is. There is a local auto glass repair place near me. Maybe they can do something.

just an idea of what the crack looks like.

This is what the windshield looks like from far away. You can NOT see the crack at all:

I think only in this photo you can clearly see the crack:

as you can see. It's right in front of the rear view mirror so it isn't even visible inside the cabin.

What this guy said. If I am correct, you can get 2 or 3 extensions. Just say it has to do with financial reasons.

Windshield repairs are for rock dings (aka fish eyes) so they don't become a running crack. What I see in the picture is a crack has already started running from the rock ding. So not easy fix, just a replacement.

Replacement should costs somewhere between $225-275. Call around glass shops to get best price

got it quoted from a local repair shop. 175$ including install since I told him I was broke (which was true).

The guy at the shop said all I needed to do was bring the receipt to court and that's it.

I'm taking my car in to get the windshield replaced tomorrow. Yay for new windshield. I guess no RB Cat-back for me, the stock ones will do for now.

One expensive fix-it ticket...
