I just mean that drifting gives you smoke and other visual clues as to speed and slip angles most folks would regard as "action" in a picture whereas with road racing it's harder to tell when someone's doing brilliant vs. only OK from still frames alone.
Exactly, I have photographed both pro-level drift events and road-race/time attack events on track. I must admit that Formula Drift and D1 are far funner to watch and photograph than time-attacks and such. The pictures are alot more satisfying as well
