Bay painted, rebuilt engine installed and first startup
New to the area and wanted to post up what I have been up to.
Picked up a rebuilt street ported engine from Rotary Resurrection and wanted to share some pics of the install. Kevin Landers was a great person to work with and helped me get this engine shipped to NorCal.
A few pics of the engine build
Picked up at a near by port

Old engine pulled
Bay before I started to clean it up a bit.
Started to clean it up a bit
Primed
Sent the injectors out to Witchhunter.com to get serviced.
Finishmaster a local auto paint supllier hooked me up with some basecoat and clearcoat with the harderner and thinner.

Had the alternator apart to throw on the rear powder coated cover that I've had forever.
Put it back together and had it tested at Autozone and passed without any problems
Clutch had a bunch of hair line cracks in it. Old ACT HD setup that I've had for about 4 years.
Replaced it with a Sachs unit for the time being. See how long this one last. Pedal effort is lighter. If I don't like it then I might just pick up another ACT pressure plate.
New flywheel as well. Replaced an older SRmotorsports aluminum flywheel that has been beat down. Didn't want to go through SR to get a new friction disk. Just ordered a new steel ACT instead.
New water pump. The impeller is made of aluminum instead of plastic and looks to have a deeper housing.

I made the mistake of putting the upper intake manifold back on before testing the fuel system for leaks and sure enough I had a leak when I turned the fuel pump online by one of my hose clamps. Pulled the mani off and just had to tighten the hose clamp. Found that I had a leak on the coolant line to the throttle body as well.
After cranking to engine over without any fuel or ignition or about a minute just to verify that oil pressure was building on my gauge. I started it for the first time and fired right up!
