Hay, I just saw this red vert posted. he said nothing about the top and they *do* say that the tranny is blown (what ever that means), but at $600 and with all the support, I thought you might be interested. Hell, I'm almost interested, but I've got the vert that Dave converted to Cosmo for me. The tranny from *my* vert is probable still in Hesperia (and an engine for spare).

I believe Fris bought your old engine, and I think Dave threw the trans in with it.

I think I got the tranny a few weeks ago if it was an 88 vert.

My vert is an 88. So, that's likely the tranny.

The vert in SF just sounded like a potential candidate, assuming it is stile available and assuming that one of Dave's family has interest in a vert. I *thought* I remembered Dave mentioning a vert in one of his recient posts.

Just think that we-all are in a position to assist in finding 7s for them and filling any gaps to fix what-ever lacks. Dave can do it through us, sort-of.

Come and get a S5 trany. It just need the roll-pin for the shifter. I was mocking with it but I ended up using other pre-S5 tranny.

Help me clean up my garage.

I am, let's say, car challanged. I know what a tranny is, and I know what an engine is. My idea of fixing up a car is paying someone to do it, which is why my husbands car is still sitting in the garage. I have no idea what the other things are that you are talking about. In fact, I think I can hear dave laughing at me from the other side. jk. Dave begged my husband to upgrade so many things on his car, and has been giving advice for years. We have never had the money to do it, nor did Ed think he needed an upgraded turbo, but in honor of Dave, we are going to fix up his Eagle Talon the way dave wanted it done. In fact, Dave has been looking for a turbo for us. So, if anyone can find one for a 91 talon, please let us know. I am not sure what kind of upgrade dave was talking about, but it wasn't just a regular turbo.

Ed, my husband, an I were talking about Anjew. We remember dave talking about you. don't remember what he said, but we remember your name.

heart Felt Thanks

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted you to all know that Dave's Dad and I are overwhelmed with your kindness to our family. The way you supported our family in our darkest hour was so touching and it will never be forgotten.

My son always knew how to pick good friends. Thank you for being his friends and for having fun times with him. We as a family feel so blessed to have had him in our lives as long as we did. Thank you for sharing all the nice things he did. I know that even though David is not with us here on Earth anymore that he will continue to live through those uf us who keep his memory alive.

I felt that I should ask all of you if you mind if we (my husband and I go on the memorial ride on Saturday.) We don't have a rx7 or 8 BUT....we have a motorcycle and a Mazda Protoge( I know it's laughable).

Thank you again to all of you. You helped make David's life memorable.

Love,
Daves Mom

Hey, if you guys need someone to check out that 'vert in person, I'd be glad to. San Francisco's only about an hour from me.

I'll bring my camera.

Tennille,
If and when you and your husband are ready to purchase a turbo, let me know. I can help you get one for a much much reduced price if you need.

It depends on how big and nice of a turbo you want.

Just let me know if you are serious about it, and I am willing to help you when you are ready.

I remember Dave coming out to visit me in the desert, driving that "ProteGAY" as he called it, when the 7 gave him problems...that car would be more than fitting for the cruise.

We have liftoff! This went in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune as of today. They edited my original submission, but thats just the media for you, always telling their version of it. My submission was more heartfelt, as this is just an inpersonal fyi kinda news brief...

Carwash was great!! Dave was with us, he held back the rain, while we got the cars clean and shiny, full bellies, and to take time to swap decals, t-shirts and memories...priceless! We washed about 20 cars, and ate 10 lbs+ of BBQ. Good times for all, and i think everyone left feeling like they had done something good.

Many thanks to Steven (SoCalRotor) for all the supplies and thanks to him and everyone who helped with the car washing - tire scrubbing efforts. I cant believe how fast we washed that suburban!

It was very nice to get to chill with Suzy and Joe, many thanks to them for coming out and putting things in perspective. It is not easy to deal with such a loss, and thier strength as a family and sincere genuineness was obvious.

Hope we can all get to meet up again, (or meet) at the next SoCalRotor BBQ - to be at the beach, somewhere around Dave's birthday 6/22.

Looking back at the last few weeks, this seems fitting of Dave and everyone who he touched: "The influence of each human being on others in his life is a kind of immortality." (John Quincy Adams)

i wish there was a way to repay you guys for the kindness you have shown our family. you are the most "christian" people i have ever met in my life. just know if i could, i would pay for everyone to have the rx7 of their dreams.(it's the thought that counts right?) you truely were Dave's family, and that makes you my family. i love you all.
