WHOA look out buddy you're at the wrong place asking those kinds of questions.

i know there is a forum for gay assed piston swaps, but not sure of the url, im sure someone else will chime in.

(didn't mean to sound like an *******, im just goofing around, but really piston swaps are not well like in these parts)

I think piston swaps are just fine. You do what you want to yours, I do what I want to mine, he does what he wants to his.

I cant find the other engine conversion forum

Oh and I could care less if someone didnt like that I was thinking of doing a swap or not. Its my car and ill do what I see fit with it. On that note....If mazda had made this engine easier to work on I wouldnt be thinking of it....but as Ive dropped almost a grand already trying to get it running right....Im tired and want to go to something I know about.

depends, I have a SBC (350) in my '85. If you already just happen to have an engine and trans lying about... it can be pretty damn cheap. Also if you by of ebay and the yards you can do a swap for cheap, and start raping much more expensive cars.

any SBC, just depends on what your goal is. I wanted a 327 for the rev happyness of it, but went with a 350 for convience and price. I recomend starting with a T56 trans and not paying anymind to a t5 (I have one, and I have a T-56 waiting to go in). And you can't beat Grannys Speed Shops kits, cheap and easy.
