You can come here and choose which car you want to get beat by. and yes, all 3 cars are street driven. v8s are so much more reliable, how come our cars are running and yours are down. need a rebuild? or was the ls1 not enough to beat the rotary so u need an ls6 to try and keep up... Im not sure whos a bigger tool, you or Tommy. lol who gives a **** if a car is street driven? Theres a video on youtube of a "street driven" 2500hp sub 7 second mustang who drives to BK in the snow...so your definition of a street car means nothing. Also, you keep digging yourself in a deeper ditch talking **** to people you know NOTHING about.
You think your crew of deep throaters are the fastest cars in the world.....your gonna learn the hardway whether it be from me or one of these guys..or someone completely different..hell theres a guy around with with a hyundai that goes 9.99s and its just as fast on the street. And again youll laugh knowing NOTHING about the car just start talking **** blindly. I know I wont beat every rotary in the planet..my goal wasnt to build an LS1 car to BEAT rotaries. You guys seem like your out on a mission to prove that you are Gods. The bottom line is your motor is junk and IF what your saying is the truth about your car...I can guarantee it wont last very long. So I guess it will be a fun time racing if your motor lasts till the summer.

Were YOU in the 24 hour race? lol you just completely contradicted yourself you f*cking moron. With my gunrack?..So now it went from cars to guns? Was that a threat? And crossing a state border with a firearm is illegal. You wouldn't know that because you've probably never picked up a gun short of a supersoaker.(oh and the icon on the left isnt from the local aquarium.) Lol now you really sound like a ***** getting all pissy because you jumped in here running your ********** and now your all butthurt. You came into this thread with the sole purpose of talking ****, and you obviously can't handle it..go somewhere else.

Depends on what you want. If you want to go fast, sound like a streetbike, and have to fix your car almost daily get an RX7, if you want to go fast and be done with it..get an LS1.

why'd u buy an FB?? couldnt afford a FD?? saving ur money to repair ur broken down rotary when it breaks?

rotarys can produce a lot of power sure.. no doubt about it, Reving hardcore like they do.. but the V8 guys' point of view IS.......... that they will always be less reliable than any other engine.. and if they are such great engines.. why did they quit producing them?? why arent they mass produced... for e.g...

u have the 13b.. also used in the RX8 b/c mazda couldnt afford a better engine for the RX models, u have the 20B which u dont see many of and the rotary engine is just pointless and even mazda knows it, thats why they dont waste there time on the WANKEL!

then u have the genuine LSx motor... well.. by god.. there's the LS1... LS2.. LS3.. LS4.. LS6.. LS7.. an then u have the LSx based motors.. meaning the 5.3L ++++

so now tell me, w/ this being said.. tell me how great the WANKEL is... cmon.. since we all know u 3 rotor guys, love the "WANKEL" so much.

The military standard issue diesel engine is in most all there equipment( I know because I used to work on it) Is a "250HP cummins diesel!!!

This engine is rated at 250HP Factory!

That doesnt say much (I know!)!

What that doesnt say is that THAT engine make over 1200 foot pounds of torque at max RPM (roughly 1895 rpm)

NOW YOU ROTARDS DO THE MATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont care what the dyno says your rotary has for HP!

HP means nothing!

unless you figure the RPM in where you take your measurement!

You 4 banger boys? SAME THING!!!!!!

The bottom line is this!

MY weed wacker makes .5 HP at 10,000 RPM's??

But? What does it do at 1500 RPM's??

HMMMMMMMMM!

you getting this????

The point is, If your going to claim all this HP )( horse power)

Tell us what RPM you taking that reading? BECAUSE IT MATTERS IN DAILY DRIVERS!!!!

otherwise your just talking out your A S S!!

Oh , and one other thing!

A rotary motor CANNOT make the same KIND of horsepower as a piston engine period!

WHY? It has LESS rotating mass!!!!!

SO put that in your turbochrarged weed wacker and smoke it!

Thanks for the input. My car is already done. This spring the motor is getting pulled back out and getting forged, procharged etc etc. The pro charger I like because it is a self contained system. I am gunning for 800 wheel hp. I also won the stupid rotard show.. Ha asses. My LS1 took first place. But im prob talking **** right. Oh wait. Here is the link to my car and the 1st place win.
Too bad other people on this forum are not stand up guys like Snyper, eat pez my self and XxMerlinXx that know what we are talking about or if we dont we do research before talking ****.

Wow this thread is getting way out of hand, and will probably get locked soon, but I'd like to present a theory.

I just realized that all the rotary people think "TT_Rotary" is a douche-nozzle. Then I realized all the v8 people think "TT_Rotary" is a douche-nozzle. Holy **** people! That means we've found some common ground!

I've decided that "TT_Rotary" is not a real person, but a active member of our community that decided he/she was tired of all the flaming and bickering between the v8 and rotary guys and wanted us to forget about our differences and turn all of our hatered towards a made up character. Comeon do you really think anyone is really that dumb?

+1 for ls1's. id rather not spend a bunch of time and money on a dyno, then blow my apex seal 2k miles later.
305whp, passing smog, 28mpg hiway, and its nice and quiet. cuz im tired of loud cars.
oh and resale value is way better too. haha (dump 10k into a TII, and sell it for 6 max)
400hp FD's sell for like 15k? 400hp LSx FD's sell for 30-35

No, big boy, you didn't BSed, you were doint the BSing. All I, and others, did was point out the facts so others do not get misguided by your misinformation. I just wrapped up swap #6, I believe I'm more qualified to answer questions than someone who has been thinking about doing his first one, but it isn't going to be an LS1 anyway, but isn't going to be doing it himself, and he's going to pay a shop to do it, but the shop hasn't had time to do it cos they're working on a Hummer, but the shop is closed, luckily the guy that was going to do it is still gonna hook you up, but he can't now cos your subframe isn't here, cos a guy that works at Hinson's shop got hurt, but it's not really a shop anyway, it's more like a metal building behind Hinson's dad's house.

Sorry for BSing you.

Wow, I just came over here to see what all the fuss was about. 12 pages of carnage....

I drive an LS1 FD. I looked at new FDs when they came out in '93, and again in '94 and '95. I still have the original Mazda brochures. I couldn't afford one then and, even if I could, the mileage sucked. I won't get into the reliability issue that surfaced later.

I looked into the LSx swap in '06, then found a completed swap that was done better than what I probably could have done, so I bought it. The car passes emissions, gets 28 mpg on the highway, and ran a 10.9x @ 124 when it dyno'd 421 rwhp, 376 rwtq. It now dynos at 442 rwhp, 408 rwtq but no new times.

But, after reading this thread, I have a real problem. You see, I live in Texas, just like TT_Rotary. My FD is red with black-center wheels, just like TT_Rotary's car. Where can I get a sticker that says:
"I'm NOT TT_Rotary!!!"

Stock ECU (PCM in GM cars) is extremely tunable. You can't just pop on new injectors and a turbo and pull out of the driveway. If it runs on it's own, you'll be lucky. Pull it to a dyno where someone has the GM PCM editing software, they plug it into the OBD2 port, and 4 or 5 pulls later, you're golden.

Any more questions that you want a staight answer to, just PM me. If I don't know, I can point you in the right direction.

As far as reliability, wiener jr, I drove my LS1 swapped FC for 15,000 miles and the only time it was down was for upgrades. I drove it from SC to Denver, that's 1500 miles, sold it, picked up a LS1 swapped FD (the swap wasn't even finished, driveable, that's it. The previous owner claimed to have 1000 miles on the swap) and drove it home. 26mpgs on the FC, 20mpgs on the FD. It was running rich since it hadn't been tuned.

Only problem I had was a flat tire on the FD about 2 hours from home.

What endurance tests have YOU done with YOUR car?

Your really comparing some road rally show with a 24hr endurance race such as Daytona? And can you explain this a little bit better, "if something breaks on the side of the road, u can fix a V8 by yourself w/ simplistic tools.. w/ the rotary, u have to have it towed home."?

Appreciate that Eat-Pez, as I had stated earlier, I have never really looked into a ls variant swap. For me part of the appeal of the rx7 is the rotary so the 20b swap is where my build is heading. I'm not saying one is better than the other, a 20b setup is just what from a personal taste I want out of my build. However I might always be open to the idea of having the 20b as the weekend warrior car and having an lsx daily thats getting great gas milage and still alowing me to enjoy the car itself.

I run a small business and we have a job or 2 coming up in Ft Oglethorpe. One is in Feb, and the other is in March or April, I'll have to check the schedule. Anyway, If I don't send any of my employees, I'll do them, I'll drive the FD and you can have a take a ride, if you like. The one in Feb will require 10' & 12' ladders, so I probably won't bring the FD to that one....

I have a friend who has an LT1 FD and a 13b FD. Having both is cool if that's your bag. You won't be disappointed with the LS swap. I've never heard of anyone taking out their LS to put the rotary back in...

As far as 20B goes, that's cool, I'm sure it'll make a fast car. Faster than an LS swap? Don't know and don't care. If you talk **** am I gonna shut you up? I'll damn well try.
