yeah, its what will my car run thread.

Going to the track this friday, just wondering what you think my car will run. The track up here is roughly 1600' above sealevel if that helps.

here is the setup

87 t2,

reman with 15,000 miles
stock turbo/intercooler (40mm ported wg though)
oem clutch/pp with approx 2K on em
3" intake
Corksport full exhaust (80mm)
koyo rad
ss brake lines, clutch line, oil cooler lines
walbro 255 fp
greddy 720cc injectors
rtek 1.7 ecu
bur9eq plugs all around
magnecor 10mm wires
all emissions **** removed
no ac/ps
interior gutted (2 seats and a dash left, probably atleast 200lbs less than stock weight)
225/50/16" z rated federal tires mounted on stock rims

13 lbs of boost.

What are you thinking? Im hoping for mid to high 13's and around 100mph traps. Think this setup can do it?

13-14lbs on a stock intercooler and stock timing? Very brave my friend. Have you taken this to a dyno and seen what your AFR's are? I highly suggest you spend the couple of bucks to know what your "chip" is actually doing than find out the hard way on the 1320. And if its your firs time at the track with a stock clutch I say 15's at about 90 mph.

Do you think I will run lean? Walbro 255, 720cc secondaries and an rtek 1.7 chip seem like alot of fuel to me for such low power. Timing gets retarded 1* per psi after 9lbs with the rtek. There is a dyno day coming up soon I think I will take part just to confirm that this chip makes good on what it says, thanks.

the stock IC is still a problem when running 14psi. anything over 12 on that thing and your intake air is too hot.

i was making about 270whp on my 91 TII with a big streetport, stock s5 turbo, running about 14psi and the intake temps would go from *90 to about *170. thats WAYYY too hot for intake air.

ah ok I see now. I turned the boost down to 10psi, honestly I can barely feel any power loss at all from 12-10.

you prolly didnt loose any power. the intake temp was so hot, the air was less dence, so even at a higher presure, your getting the same amount of air. make since?

that setup would be good for roughly 240whp on a mustang dyno, which would put you at high 13's assuming your an average driver.

I know two people running this setup, one made 236whp, dynojet. the other made 239, on a mustang, however he was running an s5 engine/turbo.

but anyways..go and practice launching. a lot.

well just got back from the track. Whoever said 15's at 90mph was a tad off lol. I started off my first ever run with a 14.1 @ 102mph, with a 2.3 60'. I figured If i got that 60' down I'd be 13's for sure. Next run I hit 13.995 @ 99.99mph, with a 2.2 60'. Third and final run of the night I launched the best hitting a 13.75@102mph with a 2.1 60'. Deff. a good time at the track and I was impressed with the car for only have bolt ons for mods.

impressive....

my friend when he owned my car before me cut a 1.9 60' and ran 13.9secs @ 98mph with less mods....

what he did was lower tire pressure too 16psi'ish, cut his ET down by .250secs....

just going on what he told me though....

get a FMIC and turn the boost back up to 14-15psi. since you have the r-tek 1.7 ecu upgrade... and try to get 245's in the back that will help with the 60-ft. if you get a 2.0 or 1.9 60 ft then you can say hello to 12.99......i ran 13.38 with less mods
