Makes No Sense???

hey i went to the drag strip again last night with a boost controller and a re amemiya ecu

1st time there i was at 6 psi and had a best run of 14.5 at 97 mph

last night

1st run @ 12psi

R/T .003
60' 2.464
330 6.616
1/8 9.907
mph 77.43
1000 12.759
1/4 15.146
mph 95.04

now nothing went wrong in that run, the car felt like it pulled nice and i even check the boost guage and was at 12 psi... so rly confused there

this was my 2nd and last run at 15 psi

R/T .085
60' 2.152
330 6.039
1/8 9.180
mph 80.84
1000 11.928
1/4 14.222
mph 98.70

i could have sworn that at 15psi i should be in the 13's... im rly confused... lol... 3 milli seconds faster with almost 10 pounds and a re amemiya ecu...

60 FOOT TIMES.

your 12psi run you did what a 2.4 60 foot?

you should be getting 2.0 - 2.1 60 foot times.

i read somewhere and do know how true it is... but a rule of thumb is .1 off of your 60 foot = .2 off of your 1/4 mile.

the re amemiya ecu i bought off a friend with a 2nd gen, he used it to race bikes on the highway and all that, it runs nice and improved my car quite a bit. all i know is instead of a silver N 332 comp this was a n 333 green writing, he opened it up and it had a re amemiya chip in it...

sleeper.. i did not know that, i know that i have like 10 year old tires that came with the car and they are worn down, but at the same time that still doesnt explain the difference with 6psi and 15 psi being .300 seconds apart...

id have to see your time slip from the 6psi run.

also the stock timc acnt handle the heat. the extra heat from 15psi on the stock tmic is not too good for making power. I had to let my car cool almost 45 min between runs with the hood up and a bag of ice on the tmic or i would run almost 1 second slower.

when you go to the track did you go run right away or did you let it cool down from the drive there?
if you just went and ran it without waiting id go back and run at 12psi again only after the car cools down totally. it will get back to operating temps by the time you get up in the staging lanes. i kept my car off... hood up, and pushed it up till i was about 3rd or 4th back in line before i started it.

everyone has thier own way but i drive around the waterbox not through it.... turn the tires over a time or two to clean them off...(no need to heat radials), i go and single stage and pull the ebrake.... then rev up a few times to get the oil psi up and flowing.
I rev my car to 3800rpms and hold it there just as i get to 3800 i bump the clutch just a bit to fully stage. using the ebrke to stop there... i hold the ebrake up while pushing the button down so its free to put down.
i have done it a few times so i know where my clutch catch point is... i release the flutch just a little so its just BARLEY over the catch point.
now when the light gets to the next to bottom yellow i let donw the ebrake and slip the clutch just barley and floor it.

if the track is prepped decent that should get you a 2.1 everytime. lower if you have better tires and can rev it higher and not burn out all over the place.

you will run a 13.8 is my guess... let it cool down and get a good launch! you can doooo it!

yea its gonna take more than 30 min... next time touch your intake manifold. if it burns you then let it sit longer.. lol

looks like you are shifting into 4th gear? if so do you think you could just hold 3rd? depends on your wheel size and all that but at that trap speed its right on the border line.

Also, next time you run....

Throw a bag of ice on your IC before the run. A 5 lbs bag works great. Just watch out that the bag dosen't rip and start dropping cold water on your turbo or downpipe.

I was dialed in for 13.9 and I let the bag of ice sit on my tmic for at least 15 minutes. The next run was 13.72. I was PISSED because I broke out and lost .... but hey it ran a lot faster
