First time down the strip (1/8th mile)

Well, last night was my first ever attempt at going down a drag strip. My Rx-7 ran pretty good, but I think it has some better runs in it. All in all i ran a total of 5 times. Started with a real impressive (....) 9.54@88 spinning the complete entire way down the track. I then followed that run up with times of 9.01, 8.54, 8.44, and then, the last run of the night yielded a 8.07@92.xx with something like a 2.18 60ft times. Now, keep in mind, this was on 10+ year old goodyear 225's radials. Also, this is my first time down the track and on a real, real rough just street tune at only 11 psi. I plan on running some Nitto drag radials pretty soon, and getting the car dyno tuned hopefully within the real near future. The setup I have is good for probably about a solid 20-22 psi and quite a bit more power. I'm anxious to see what the car has in it...

Yeah, i have some video I'm hoping to throw up tonight of my runs. I'll throw up my 9.5 run, and then the 8.07 run to show the difference. I'm real anxious to get a tune on the car and see what a little more boost and some better tires will do.

Here is my very first run, of my life, with 34 psi in the tires and the rev-limiter at 8k rpm. Against an '04 GTO (automatic)

9.5x @ 88 mph 2.45 60ft time

This is my 5th and final run of the night. Tire pressure dropped considerably to 18 psi and rev-limiter upped to 8.5k. Against a '03 Cavalier. You'll see I still bogged a bit off the line so I'm anxious to get back to the track and see what the car has in it.

8.07 @ 92 mph 2.18 60ft time

I apologize for the poor quality. It was taken on just a pretty cheap Canon digital camera. The girl voice you hear is my wife, and the guy voice is my good friend Jason (Sesshoumaru on the forums) who has been basically the main person responsible for the car's current state.

Whats up E. Well, at least I know I can now at least keep up with all of those pesky Lambo's that are running around Des Moines....
Got the solid motor mounts in, and will hopefully be throwing on some decent tires soon. Hopefully that will help bring that 60' down to something respectable and we can find out what what the car has in it.
