its got 170k on the tiker. the exhaust is a custom 3inch single with a moroso spiral flow and a dyna tech race muffler, with no cats, its so god dam lowed on the street! mods are, custom cold air box, ported intake manifold, NO emmissons what so ever I.E. no smog pump, cats, egr, 5/6th ports or air control valve, no choke plate on TB, no a/c. and i think that about does it for power mods. the motor alone has about 50k on it, the guy i bought the car off of last year put a new/used motor in it, dont wanna know why!

i dunno man, that seems low to me. 3 inch exhaust is too big... I know guys putting down in the 140's with similar mods. Is compression ok? You should be doing 115-120 stock.

Yeah, I didn't notice everything he had done. That is kinda low considering the CAI and ported manifolds, etc. Still, though, if its on hold housings its not too suprising.

No 5/6 ports? Wired open? You got an S4 engine right? With no smog pump how are they opening if they aren't wired open? That may be your porblem.

If you wire open your 5th and 6th port will it cause any problems other than a little less low end torque?

the 5/6th ports are wired open, i did loose a little low end torque but it was worth it. the dyno i ran on was a Mustang dyno, they read realy low.

woohoo I'm removing the 5th and 6th completely and contouring the ports so they'll always be open.

i guess i didnt make my self clear about the 5th/6th ports and porting the intake. i have the slides still in there there just wired open, the porting on the intake is vary miner, i just smoothed out the surfases between each intake peace.

3" is a bit of overkill on the exhaust but for the numbers they seem average for an n/a on a mustang dyno- they read lower than most other dynos out there.

That is kinda low considering the CAI
Words can't tell me that a custom cold air box is actually functioning the way it should. Pictures are needed.

THose numbers a REALLY low. Get your self a SAFC and start tuning. Also while you do that or even before, tune your timing. Without an SAFC you may be running pretty rich. You could advance your timing to help burn the Air and fuel better. Also swap on a S5 intake manifold and you will gain 10+ hp and get another 1500 rpms.

Why should they be any different?

Every style of dyno has its quirks. To many reasons to list and some of them get pretty technical. When you try to compare hp #'s from different dynos all you will get is arguements. Just always use the same dyno when you want to see if mods have made a difference.

ever actually been to a dyno before?

you can visit every shop in your area that has a dyno and i can almost gaurantee you will see at least a 5WHP difference between each. Mustang dynos are often known to be the harshest on the numbers.

Didn't know there was that much of a variation. Figured they all did the same math.

my buddy that went with me has a 06' wrx with helix turbo back and cobb stage2, pulled 200whp and 248wtq. from what hes seen thats low for what he has since he was on that perticular dyno. people have ran there cars on the mustang dyno and then gone to other types of dynos in the seattle area, and seen a 20-30whp difference.
