first time at the drags in years, new ride

Hey guys, this was my second run. Some blowing trash on the track messed up the final numbers, any guesses as to what they might be?

13-14 psi, non-seq turbos, etc.

Well, just went to the drags for the 3rd time ever. Not too happy with the results, so many of you guys make me feel so slow! Here's my slips. Best ET is 13.137 sec, best trap 108.97 mph. I am having the hardest time launching my car, either wheel hop or total bog... see my video. I felt like I was going to break something on my 1st pass so I took it easy on the launch on the other two. My 60' are well over 2 secs... I'm not going back until I can get some better tires and more practice launching

1st pass was about 13 psi, I normally run my car at sea level and it seems that when I drove up to the track (~1000 ft elevation) I lost some boost... almost 1 psi. 1st pass was a little more than 13 psi, other two were at 14# boost.

One very important thing to note: I pulled 2 degrees of leading timing in all boost rows above 10 psi and pulled 2 degrees of trailing timing in the upper rpm range (from about 4k on up) in an effort to reduce knocking I was seeing a few months ago on my car... haven't changed it back, although I should have. I know over 2 years ago when I 1st dyno'd my car when I added 2* of timing leading timing I got 10-15 hp out of that change alone!!

Just for reference, I ran 110-112 mph trap with my old timing map and about 108-109 trap with my slightly retarded timing. About the same boost level & mods, and ambient conditions. Probably robbed myself of 20-30 hp I reckon.

Just thought I would share... check out the video. And see my sig for mods.

why are you going thru the staging lights and backing up every time

Get some et streets, do a little burn out and shave a full second off your time by launching that car.

Hey man what can I say, I suck, I'm not a drag racing pro Maybe next year I will get the tires and try again... although that's what I said last year... we'll see. I am trying not to break anything so how is it with those ET streets? I read of people launching pretty hard on stockish suspension and rear end and it seems to make a big difference with the wheel hopping issue.

Nice time man, how much boost, and what tires? That seems like a really good 60'.

ok can somebody give me a guess as to what i should run i tried to make a pass the other night and went from 2nd to 5th and snapped the damn syncro and still ran a 13.5 at 118 but like i say the tranny quit after that run so i got another one put in but no idea what i should be hoping for?????

heres my mod list:
Stage 3 large port motor built at RX-7 Store in Ohio.
To4z Single Turbo
Greddy FMIC
AEM Methanol Kit
Twin 255 Fuel Pumps
GM 3 Bar Map
HKS Twin Power Ignition
AEM Wideband
Apexi Power FC with Datalogit
850-1600 Injectors
Aeromotive FPR
KG Parts Fuel Rails
Extreme Fuel System
HKS Carbon/Titanium Catback
Megan Racing Aluminum 4 Core Radiator
Snipes Wastegate
HKS SSQV BOV with upgraded fin
Greddy Electronic Boost Controller
ACT Clutch and Flywheel
H&R Springs/Koni Struts

I only put down 438 at 20 psi with a serious *** boost leak??? i got the leak fixed but havnt went back for a retune yet? and im just running street tires for now any ideas?

You should EASILY be in the 10's with that setup man, assuming traction and a decent driver. :P That is plenty of power for it...I'd also say you should be trapping a bit higher with that much power as well, but that will come with a bit more traction. 588 is a lot of power!! I should make close to that when I go back to the dyno on the 26th with my new boost controller. Anyway, SICK car man!!

^ Vetty nice! You're making almost the same exact power that I am, but I've yet to make it to the track this year. I'm terrified of breaking my rear end, actually...Just did solid rear diff bushings, and I have the diff brace.

What are you running for a rear end/axles?

Ahhh, very nice! I'm making slightly (6 more WHP) than you, but am afraid to run it all out at the track being on a factory diff and axles...

Yup, that's one healthy stock twin car... I always told her it was faster than mine. 114 is nice trap for stock twins semi-daily beaten, still sequential too.
