Soooo i took my FD to the track......

and got kicked off after my first pass for breaking 13 seconds and i didnt have a helmet. supposedly i knew that my car was going to be that fast... I havent tracked my car in about 3 years. since then i have taken out the Power FC. I was having boost problems and only putting out 5lbs on my stock non-seq. plugged a couple of lines and it went up to 8 lbs., i just finished changing the oil so i take it on an open road to get the oil circulated.. and this road takes you to the drag strip.
i said what the hell, since im here.. first i was asked if i was running with nitrous then asked if i will brake 13's i honestly said no because i thought that was a long shot..
so on my first run .. I had 13.7 @ 96 mph and i bogged it in first gear.. and let off too early cause i couldnt tell where the end of the track was.. didnt have a helmet so i had to leave.

Im thinking that that is not the time you should have for a stock engine.
only mods are
apex gt exhaust
No cat
Greddy FMIC
Non-seq 8lbs (according to autometer)

I agree that trap is low IMO for your mods(just going by my car and what others have said). I personally only care about the trap speed.

On a stock reman engine running pig rich at 7psi seq I trapped a 103.xx.

I had the same problem too with the helmet but the two guys running the staging area just mentioned that next time I come I need a helmet.

The trap is low because he let off early.

Was it an actual race day or just a test and tune night? There are 10-11 second street cars at my local track on test and run nights, the techs never say anything about safety equipment. If it was an actual race event then the rules kick in.

i think the 13sec rule is for every official track.. here in gainesville..
home of the gator nationals .. everyone wants to be the next top fuel champion.. so test and tune nights look the same like offical races..
all monte carlos and mustangs.

Up here in WA at our track at Pacific Raceways it is anything faster than 14.0 requires a helmet and anything faster than 11.5 requires a roll cage. I got booted on my 1st run for going 13.6 at 104 and it sucked cuz that's the first time I haven't broken something and it wasn't even a good run!
