No offense but I would have expected to see a higher number. I made 325 at 1 bar (to be honest I would have to dig up my old dyno sheet but I think it was 14psi) on my stock non sequential set up before I went single. Mods were stock motor, stock non seqential turbos, no cats, smic, hks f-con, profec b, RP fuel pump. Do not take this as a put down but I just thought the effini turbos with a tuned pfc would have made more at 1 bar..

93 RX7

Stock (to my knowledge) motor with 75k miles
3" dp
3" catback
drilled out intake box
power fc running a basemap
12-13psi

285.7rwhp

torque reading was way off (55 on the first run, 780 on the second.. they couldnt make it calculate right)

And my afrs were in the 11 range and went to about 10.9-10.8 around redline.

Once I get my hands on a scanner I'll upload the graphs.

Rob, your dyno graph's hp and torque curves don't cross over at 5250 either....Any idea why?

rob20rx7 01-14-05 08:49 PM

Alot of that depends on the software or dyno u use. Dyno Jet doesnt calculate HP from torque. they use time and Rpm to to calculate these numbers. it has been brought up on another threat so if you like read it there. i think its explained better.

The dyno software obviously adjusts the scale for horsepower and torque according to peak numbers. On an LS1 making 350whp and 350 wtq, the software would scale each side the same and allow HP and TQ to cross at 5252. I do agree though that it is annoying to have to read the chart differently on each side. I'm not sure why the software does that. I'm sure it's just an option that could be easily changed.

dyno run prior to single

This is a crappy pic of one dyno (15 psi) run out of a set of 7 prior to going single. Initially I was somewhat pleased, but as I was leaving I noticed all the dyno numbers were in standard and not SAE (corrected) format. I then asked the dyno operator for a few graphs with SAE data, which resulted in lower numbers. The first 6 runs were performed at 0.95 on the PFC, 15psi on the Autometer. The split was kept at 12 for the first 3 runs to determine the optimum timing maps. I then varied the split to 10 and 14 on the timing map, which performed the best on the first 3 runs. With the exception of one all runs were data logged including AFRs and EGTs. stock sequential twins, stock ports, PFC, 1300s, dp, mp, cb, intake, smic, HKS Twin Power

how can you get big power like these numbers and still pass california smog

*downpipe
*cat-back exhaust
*intake
*intercooler
*hi-flow cat
*bored out secondary injectors (1300cc)
*upgraded fuel pump
*mild streetported engine
*PFC with little trick to light check engine light at start-up

You should be able to make 330+ rwhp with this setup at 15-16 psi. If you want more power, you can run a midpipe and make 350+ rwhp. You'll have to swap a stock cat back in for testing.

If you get a tester that holds you on the visuals (some will ignore some visuals if you pass sniffer), you can get CARB approved intake and intercooler setup. They won't notice any of the other items. Or you can just swap back in the stock intake and IC, it doesn't take that long.

At what boost was this dyno run done?

Jonptp 04-27-05 06:12 PM

27-28 lbs

Impressive. And that was a 3rd gear pull as well. You should see an increase when doing a 4th gear pull (at least I always do).

Thank you

well I changed the computer in the dyno about 3 months ago and cant find my other dyno graph. We changed computers because the old one was messing up so maybe it got erased or something. But the other graph had more power.

Jon,

Could you change the MPH scale to RPMs? I know I could figure it out, but I'm too lazy. Also, you should submit your dyno chart to Wargasm's dyno comparison site. If you haven't seen it, check it out at http://dyno.zeroglabs.com/dyno.php

Just got back from getting my Power-FC tuned, and it turns out by 7000 RPM's my stock injectors are hitting 99.9% injector duty (after being tuned.)

Also mods include:

Blitz FMIC
Apexi Power-FC
Apexi inake
Pettit DP
MP
Blitz Nur-spec ca-back
Spec stage II clutch
ACT X-ACT streetlight flywheel
Koyo radiator

Here is my dyno sheet: (and it was on a mustang dyno so my #'s are like 10-15% lower than other dyno's)

jakethesnake$$$ 06-08-05 12:38 AM

your numbers seem alittle low for your mods you definatly ned bigger injectors  99.9% load holy crap

No they don't....Mustang Dyno numbers....he would be putting down about 320-330 rwhp on a Dynojet, which is pretty good on the stock fuel system with a good tune.

But yes, he definitely needs upgraded fuel system (injectors and pump)!
