Nice numbers. :) Best of luck at the track! :icon_tup:

What tires do you plan on running? Have you had the car to the track before? If you haven't (and depending on conditions), you may not break into the 12's and trap over 110, but anything is possible! You probably will if you've had the car to the track before and have some sticky tires. :)

Hm, never seen a torque curve like that, how it slopes up like the hp curve to redline. Your car probably feels like it just keeps building acceleration when boost comes online. If you rev to 10,000 rpm you'll be way over 300 hp :-p

Yeah, make sure your boost pressure isn't doing something weird. Do you recall what the boost was like? A variation of a couple of psi is going to give you very different results... like 20-60+ hp assuming all else is equal. I know when I had my car on the dyno, I had some issues with keeping boost steady up to redline.

By just looking at your torque, and comparing how it looks compared to others, looks like you may have been boost creeping... would help a lot if you had a datalog(s) of the dyno pulls... I know some people say "I made xxx hp @ yyy boost" and what they sometimes don't mention is how the boost changed with gear and RPM. I know I make a little more boost in 4th than third. My peak boost is about 1/4 psi or so off of the "steady state" boost (when it comes on it rises and then flattens out to redline).... etc. If anything, boost creep lends itself to your wastegate being a little "closed", not open.

Maybe this isn't the place talk about this, but it would help "diagnose" the hp if we had more information on the tune and boost and gear, etc... Either way you shoudl get you car professionally tuned as you have some really good parts on your motor.

the guy running the car on the dyno told me the boost was building very slowly...expecially for that. I did find that my EGT sensor came loose from the pipe behind the turbo. not sure if that matters or not. I hit .9 bar i believe at the highest. either way i'm not sure what the problem is.

I have 2 BF Goodrich (255/50/16) that I will fit on the stock wheels. Never been to the track but on the streets on low boost I have smoked a car that use to do 13.5 @ 106....so am ambitious :)
I have sent you a PM.

Awesome...Replied back. :) Let us know how you make out at the track...I'm anxious to hear! :icon_tup:

man what is your injector duty? 90+?

drga55 09-01-08 12:55 AM

To be honest, I really don't know. However I did kind of indirectly asked the tuner about the duty cycles and he said that I could still go some more safely. Basically I asked him if I needed to go bigger on the secondaries. Is the PFC able to tell me what kind of duty cycle it is running? If the duty cycle to too high any suggestion as to what size secondaries I should drop in. I don't want to switch over to top feed injectors cause I don't want to have to buy new fuel rails, etc. I don't really want to get 1600cc either cause I think it is a bit of overkill. I don't plan on boosting anymore than it is now.

TRWeiss1 09-01-08 10:27 AM

Yes, the PFC is capable of displaying injector duty cycle. :)

Also, if you don't want to go as high as 1600's for secondaries, why not go with 1300's?

FearNoPiston 09-01-08 11:22 AM

well when I was on the stock fuel system waiting to me tuned I was hit 92-93 percent, I put 1300cc injectors in and got tuned @14psi and am hitting 80-85 injector duty.

Well, to give you another datapoint, my best pass was 13.2 @ 107. About 290 rwhp on street tires & stock turbos. Judging by this, you're a 12 sec car for sure :) Next time I go to the track I'm gonna "cheat" with some drag radials ;)

EDIT: I had a 2.199 sec 60'... that's pretty bad from what I hear.

I would not say cheat but buying-running another performance part! Thats like saying you are going to cheat by adding a intake,!

You're right...I checked my duty cycle today and it is already at 85%. I guess I am going to need larger injectors. Any suggestions where I should get them from.

FearNoPiston 09-03-08 07:03 PM

1300's should do fine and are a direct replacement all you have to do is take the stock 850's out and drop these ones in.

287 rwhp @ 14 psi of boost on non sequential bnr stage 3 twins, mild street port, all the bolt ons and running way too RICH! My afrs dip into the low 10s to mid 10s. I'm gonna have to raise the afr to like 10.8-10.9 to get 340-350 rwhp.

Hey who did your tunning for you? For a street port engine I think that is kind low.
I have Dave at KDR tune mine this past friday, never tune and the my car made 299 RWHP with 256 FTTQ, and then after he tune it it made 344 RWHP and 274 FT TQ, which I though was good, but other may have a different opinion.
Here are my mods.
stock engine(stock port)> inj> 550 cc, sec 1300 cc, sard adustable FPR, double throttle body butter fly removed.
Intake>big smic, Rotary extreme intake.
Exhaust> racing beat catback, bonez hi-flow cat, 3 inch downpipe.
Khris
Turbos>BNR stage 3 non seg setup.
Ignition>magncor wires, spark plugs 9 all around, Hks twin power.

It's the non sequential map from Chuck Westbrook and it is a mild street port. How much boost were you running and what were your afrs? Do you have a dyno sheet to post up?

Yeah, thats pretty low with your set up. Even with the afr's going to 11.5 or so you will not pull out 50rwhp. Running Chucks map will be a good starter map but it will need to be adjusted for your car. I am sure with a real tune and if your motor is healthy 350 is in your future. For example on my old stock motor with no-sequential stock twins and a hks f-con I made 320 at 14 psi.

ported motor with BNR twins will should make more.

How much boost are you running? Do you have a dyno chart handy? What is your boost curve like? Sorry for all of the questions, it seems like Dave @ KDR does a great job at this FD tuning thing :)

Rx7aholic 10-28-08 07:54 AM

Well I am not sure if he is consider the best out there? I think he is good, anyway he tune it for 15 lbs, which I think the car should have made aleast 355? that is my opinion because of all the supporting mods and the car never break up and the outsid temp was in the 60 degree plus and he had the fan infront of the car. I do remeber he mention that the car afr is high anfd he can't get it to the perfect match but at high rpm that's when it get flat out to be close to his setting. I will up load the dyno sheet tonite, any special things I should do before I upload like so the I don't have any issues saying file it's too large?
