What to use 16 Semi Slicks or 18 Normal Tyres?

Hi!

I am using the car (FD) mainly for Time Attack trials and track days. Can anyone suggest what is better to use from the two below:

Stock 16'' 225/45/16 Front and Rear - Dunlop Semi-Slicks

or

18'' Racing Mania alloys with 255/35/18 Rear and 235/40/18 Front - Dunlop SP Sport Maxx® GT (Performance Tires)

i would greatly appreciate your feedback on this.

Thanks!!

Ken

Do you have access to order Kumho tires in your area? If so, I would look at the Victoracers:

http://www.kumhotire.com/tire/tire_detail.jsp?prdt_id=5

which you can get in a 245/45/16.

I'm in the same boat with stock 16's and aftermarket 18's. I am leaning towards a semi or full slick on the 16's in 245/45/16 and a street tire on the 18's for street use.

16" slicks are dirt cheap compared to street 285/30/18 tires
