my sig is 17x9 and 17x10.5 mustang wheels. its a great setup for 20mm fenders, and flared rears, with no spacers. 245/40 and 275/40 are the easy fit tires (with coilovers anyway)

a friend of mine is selling the wheels off his g35 and wanted to know if i wanted to buy them, so i just wanted to know what i needed to make the wheels fit b/c i don't think the will fit with just stock fenders (even w/ a roll or a pull)

here are the specs
F: 19x8.5+25 with 245/35/19
R: 19x9.5+23 with 275/35/19

i don't want such a great deal to pass me by so any info asap would be appreciated, thanks in advance

I read thru ReTED's faq and just needed to get confirmation on tire sizing for my wheels... thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
Will be using Eibach springs.

Front 17x8 +31 w/ 225/40/17
Rear 17x9 +33 w/ 245/40/17

Not a problem.
Tha only problem is that the 225 / 40 / 17 size is slightly smaller than stock.
The proper size is 225 / 45 / 17.
You can step up to a 235 / 45 / 17 is you want for slightly wider rubber.

those rears should be fine. also, if you have coilovers and are planning on going somewhat low, I would recommend going with the slightly undersized 40 series for the front. there's not a whole lot of clearance at the top of the FC fenders, and a smaller tire will help a lot with not rubbing, and if its just the fronts it won't effect the speedo at all. you just need coilovers otherwise the front of the car will sit lower than the back so it will look a little funky.
but otherwise, ted is right, the 45 series would be the right diameter for stock.

also i am thinking of using 235-35-19 up front and move the 245-35-19's out to the rear, if it will help fitment

by the way i just have stock struts w/tein s-tech springs

Rears are fine.

I run 235 / 45 / 17 on a 17" x 8.0", +30, and this combo will hit the inside fender well on extreme steering lock.
You're running a slightly narrow tire with 1mm less clearance on the inside, so I would think it should clear everything even at extreme steering lock.

Not with the 245's up front - it's too tight.
On top of that, the Tein springs give you LESS clearance, so I doubt it'll fit under stock fenders up front.
Even dropping down to a 235 might still be tight.

The rears are "shallow", and no way a 275 wide tire will fit in the rear fender wells.
With the 245's, it might just make it.

if you aren't afraid to play with the fenders a little, I think they will fit. might even wanna go 225 in front though.

Cool 18 wheels

I have a stock 87 rx7 gxl and would like to know if this settup would fit with stock shocks. Would I need spacers? I dont want the wheels to rub or go farther than stock fenders

2- 8.5 X 18 with 35 offset
2- 9.5 x 18 with 35 offset

tires would be

2- 225/40R18
2- 255/35R18

Has anyone tried this. Can anyone help me.
Been reading and thinking for months.
Plaese help as I cant afford an error

Well got another wheel question. After selling my advans I'm tired of stock wheels. Found a set of Equips for cheap and wondered if they would fit and a tire size ya'll would reccomend.

18x8 +29
18x9 +35

These would go on a stock body fc

The fronts are too tight on the inside.
Rears are not a problem.

If you want the fronts to fit, you need a small spacer...like almost 1/2" or 10mm.

Rears not a problem.

Fronts are a major problem - they will hit inside, especially with the Tein springs.
I'd say you need at least a 20mm spacers to get them to fit up front.

18 wheels

The car (below) in this advertisment sports the following wheels

2- 18 x 8 -- 35 offset front
2- 18 X 9 -- 38 offset rear

This car also has coil over suspension by Function.

Would this setup work in front (35 offset) with stock shocks and if i use a spacer would the front wheels stick out?

Would the rear at 38 offset be ok with stock shocks?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I'd go 235 / 40 / 18 up front and 255 / 40 / 18 in the rears.
This keeps the stagger down.
Here's my tire chart...

Yep, about 1/4" or 5mm.

18 x 8 offset

So the front wheels would stick out 1/4" or 5mm.

I m going crazy.

In front what offset needed for the front wheels (18 x 8) to clear both stock shock and stock fender (assuming a 225/40R18).

ps: Thanks to RETed for all your help.

hey RET I'm tryin to figure some drag wheels/tires and I found a great deal on some 15x10s but they are 5.5" BS and that converts to a 0 offset. Now I'm highly doubting these will fit, so what am I going to want to look for in a 15x10?

Also, would a 15x8 w/ +25 offset be ok? The guy that has the 15x10s has the 15x8s for cheap too. These are for the rear. I'm going to run 15x5s for front runners.

No, sorry...with the 5mm spacer, everything should fit under stock fenders and clear almost any suspension you throw at it.
8.0" is about as wide you can go (with a 235 wide tire).
Anything wider is really tight up front...

In front what offset needed for the front wheels (18 x 8) to clear both stock shock and stock fender (assuming a 225/40R18).
With a 8.0" wide wheel, shoot for a +27 to +30 offset.
That should work with almost anything.
Once you start to go with a deeper offset, the wheel starts to move more inboard - you will run into problems on extreme steering lock.
We've run as deep as 8.0", +33 with a 235 wide tire that'll fit up front, but this combo will hit the inside wheel wells up front on steering lock.
