Thanks to both of you for the responses.... I'm still up in the air on this one... These are mint condition RP02's for 400 bucks. (whole set, came off a show car)

They wouldn't get any real "hard" use in the conventional sense... we are talking about a N/A FC with about 200 hp and never tracked. Just a toy for back and forth driving and the occasional "Sunday" drive.

Nice price for some RP02's!
Yeah for spirited street driving, they should be okay.
I would highly recommend running some ARP longer studs.
At ~$15 for a set of 5, it's cheap insurance.

actually i'm pretty sure that a 1/2 inch spacer won't even be able to thread on the the stock front studs. the rear maybe. buy yes, the ARP studs for sure.
but like i said the best option is to use hub-centric spacers, since stud length is not an issue then.

You got that backwards.
The stock rear wheel studs are 1" shorter.

Hey i know someone selling these Enkei Rp-01's for cheap in my area but im not sure if they fit or not.

heres all the info on them. they are 17x7.5 (had 225/45/17 tire mounted, which is pretty close to what i would like) offset is 32 all around. My car is on stock suspension (87 gxl) but hopefully i'll be able to afford a kyb/rsr combo. Anyone know for sure if it will fit or not?? Thanks.

is 225/45/17 as good as it'll get with a 17x7.5 rim?

I think you can get away with a 235 / 40 / 17 or 235 / 45 / 17 tire on a 7.5" rim, but I wouldn't want to go anything wider than that.
Plus, that's about as wide a tire you can fit comfortably up front.
Trying to fit a 245 wide tire on a 7.5" makes it look too "bludgey" in my opinion.

hah, yeah, try putting 245's on 7 inchers. had to use 5mm spacers on the stock TII rims to keep the sidewall from rubbing the strut during cornering. any farther out would have caused major fender clearance issues. i'd say 245 is the extreme limit without rolled fenders.

i'm sure it's been posted in this very thread a million times. but, how hard could this all possibly be?? Ted's posted exactly what should fit. Yet people keep posting asking if this wheel or that wheel will fit. If it's not on the list, it probably won't fit. MY GOD, there are 76 pages of this crap. There aught to be a final post saying exactly what fits front and what fits rear. include various rim diameters and widths and offsets along with tire sizes to go with each wheels size. For instance:

---FRONT---
Rim Spec---Offset Range---Suggested Tire Size
16x7..............32-40...........205/55-16, 225/50-16, 245/45-16
16x7.5...........xx-xx............xxx/xx-16, ect.
16x8......and so on. then do 17's and i guess 18's. maybe even 15's for those that can use them.

Enthusiasts looking for wheels for their FC can find the rim they like and look to the chart to see if it will fit. And make a note somewhere to explain where you derive your offset ranges from. Such as...the smallest offset is where the edge of the tire is nearly flush with the fender. and the largest offset is where there is minimal clearance behind the wheel for suspesion components or whatever. But keep in mind that these offset ranges are for he skinniest suggested tire and wider tires will narrow the offset range somewhat. Might be a good idea to post a generic pic of what "nearly flush" looks like. OK, I'm done. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time.

ya i apologize. I needed the answer fast so i can put the wheels on hold. Im actually picking them up this sunday. I do try to look through this thread, but all the answers are so spread apart. There should be a thread in the archive titled "will this fit my FC" haha and just list out almost all the possible ranges that would be common. Of course that would require work to put together and i have nowhere near the knowledge of wheels to fill it.

i can get a very very cheap set of 2000 corvette 5 spoke rims. 56mm and 60mm offset with a pattern of 4.75. i know i need spacers and adapters but how wide? will it even work? im not trying to roll fenders. thanks

okay i have a couple of questions. one) what tire size do you guys recommend for a 16x8 tire? and two) what would be the front and rear offset ranges in the front and rear for said wheel and tire combo? thanks bunches!

I like a 225 / 50 / 16 on a 16" x 8.0", but if you want something a little wider...
245 / 45 / 16 will fit; up front it is just too tight to run though.

If you run a 8.0", +30 both front and rear, you get the advantage to rotate them front-to-back no problem.

it states to convert 4.5 to 4.7 and space it 1.25" (about 20.3mm)

that would be 36mm for the front, and 43mm for the rears.

First of all, it doesn't make sense that it says it's 1.25" *and* 20.3mm.
1.25" is more like 32mm, so that's a significant difference than "20.3mm".

If it's truly 1.25" or 32mm, we're talking about an adjusted offset of 8.5", +24mm and 9.5", +31mm.
If this is the case, the wheels should clear no problem.

If the 1.25" is wrong, and 20.3mm is right, then...
Adjusted offsets are 8.5", +35 and 9.5", +42 - this will not fit front nor rear.

I would pass on the wheels, as they are not RX-7 friendly bolt pattern?
Running large spacers like these are not recommended, even on the street.

sorry i subtracted 1/4 of an inch instead of adding it. it would clear no problem? will it stick in or out too much in the front and rear? will it clear the brakes? thanks reted.

sorry for all the noob questions, but i really need to know asap. im asking if it sticks in and out too much because i can also get the spacers custom made with custom width instead of 1.25" all the way around. what offset should i be looking for when using 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear.

also, whats the SMALLEST/cheapest tires i can get for 8.5 and 9.5? it doesnt have to be legal, i just need to get rolling. i hear you can stretch tires? does that mean i can use 16" tires on 17"rims, or does it mean i can use 8.5 wide tires on 9.5 rims? this is for a n/a FC so i dont really need wide tires. thanks and sorry again for beign a noob.

I bought some TSW rims for my TII they are 18x8 w/ a 235 40 18 tire...they have a 35mm offset...are they going to fit???
