The only way to do it safely would be with an adapter spacer, but unless it's a fairly high offset then the wheels will stick out too much. They weren't designed to get drilled in different spots and it could be a safety problem. Basically don't do it., get wheels that fit.

I've been reading a lot about this, but I'm still getting mixed answers.

Fitment of 5Zigen FN01R's with Falken Azenis RT-615 tires on an S5 FC:

Front: 17x8 + 25 225/45R17
Rear: 17x10 + 35 255/40R17

I'd really like to have the concave wheels, but with minimal body modifications. I know how to do them, I just don't want to hack up my nice FC (a nice one is rare around these parts). I'll roll a fender or quarter if I have to (no stretching, no flares). My car has a set of Ohlins dampers that aren't height adjustible; not sure about the drop.

Questions:

-Possible without modification or rubbing?
-Any handling problems with the concave FN01R's (I heard they are heavy)
-Are the tire sizes appropriate for good handling (no understeer)
-Will it look good (heavily opinion based, I guess)

- probably, I've seen them fit on a FC with tein S-tech springs which are really low and really soft.
-they aren't heavy. I would hardly call "21-22 lbs" heavy, they're only 3-4 lbs heavier than stock S5 TII rims and they're a lot bigger
-I'll let you know when I put them on my car (currently I have those exact wheels and tires sitting in my living room)
-yup.

PM the forum user "Michael Knight" he has them on his car too. he might be able to tell you if it understeers.

at least the lighter of the fno1rc's will be up front where steering/handling are critical to the driver.
that is a great setup you have picked out and will fit very well without much if any fender lip rolling.

you should be setup very well with exactly what you are hoping to achieve with fitment.

I want to run 17''X 10'' in the rear without getting a wide fender kit and 17''X 8'' in the front. What offset and tire setup is going to work? I have Magan coilovers.

perfect fitment of 5Zigen FN01R's with Falken Azenis RT-615 tires on a stock fender FC:

Front: 17x8 + 25 225/45R17
Rear: 17x10 + 35 255/40R17

note - you can run 17x9 rear in a +35 or even a +25 with that 255 tire if you are concerned with weight as the 17x9 saves you 2-3 pounds over the 17x10 fno1rc.

WOW man I cannot believe how many redundant posts there are in here.
it would be cool to have a picture database too so people know what this stuff looks like on the car.

A simple spreadsheet would be the obvious solution, but it seems int he RX-7 world NOTHING is obvious.

here is 16x8 with about minus 12 to 15 offset. 205/50 tire. front it minus 25 to 30, same sizes.

With 25mm fr and 50mm back over fenders would 18x9-11 and 18x10 -10 fit?

Thanks

i was just checking fitment today and it pokes out atleast an inch... not sure if i want to spend alot of money on this... money is tight so i'll give it time... with my stiff suspension i dont think it would be much of a problem with a 205/40 .. 45 tire

Why not just get wheels that fit? There's other options out there in stock wheels that fit properly. It's not like those are particularly desirable or anything, they're not exactly pretty and probably aren't the lightest.

There's much easier ways to get a 205 under the car.

I want to get the CE28N time attack for my car. I wanted to go with 17" but it dont look like 17x7.5 with 50mm offset will work up front. Am I stuck with 18"? (x8.5 +30 front and x9.5 +34 rear) Thanks.

Those are + not -

You'd have to jump up to an 18 x 8.5 to get something that comes the closest to fitting in the front.

^ Or use some pretty thick spacers.

I wasn't trying to bag on you 13b_cookie_monster, I was just trying to suggest that maybe you should give up. Even with a stiff suspension you'll get a fair bit of wheel travel when you go over bumps and stuff like that, and that could easily put a tire into the fender. Besides, in most places it's illegal to have the wheels and/or tires sticking out past the fenders.
