Hmm, will wheels that are 17x8 with +33 offset in front and 17x9 with +12 offset fit a FC with Tein HA suspension and stock fenders? Im looking at a set of Gram lights to purchase. Thanks.

 

i found some ssrs theyre 17x8 with +13 offset F 17x9 0 offset R if i need widebody fenders how wide do i need?

 

I'd say about 20mm up front, and at least 30mm in the rear.
That's some serious "reverse offset" wheels.
I dunno if it's going to screw up your bearings running those things.

the wheels i want only come in 18 x 7.5, 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5.

For the FC would you guys recommend to go with the 18 x 8.5 all the way around. or 18 x 7.5 in the front and 18 x 8.5 in the rear. Or should i go with the 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 in the rear. or is that really pushing it.

 

I found some 15x6.5 4x114.3 universals with an offset of 40. It doesn't say + or -.
Would these fit my FC?

If it doesn't mention "-", then assume it's a positive offset or +40.
15" x 6.5", +40 is like the stock FC non-turbo wheels?
That should fit.

Wow, so many considerations... I need some advice.

I'm trying to plan my build up of my FC. I plan on running an adjustible height coil-over and wider fenders front and rear. I'm looking for a maximum (street) grip setup. One that is as wide as I can go out back without throwing off the balance of the handeling.

I've started off with the asumption of using 17x9 - 255/40/17 in Front and 17x10 - 275/40/17 in Rear. After reading all the pages of this thread it appears this will fit. On paper, I like these sizes because they're fairly close in tire width/rim width ratio.... in other words the tires seem well matched to the rim width and should squirm under cornering about the same. Does anyone have any observations about these sizes? Does it unbalance the handeling one way or the other?

Using RETed's wonderful tire size chart, the main problem with this size is that the circumference (compaired with stock) of the rear 275/40/17 is +3.14%. Would it be possible to fit a 285/30/18 instead? That would only have a -0.51% difference to stock. It doesn't seem like stager sizing wheels is popular on our FC's. Is there a reason for this? If a 285 was used in the rear it would actually help the tire width/rim width ratio, I mentioned in the paragraph above, ever so slightly.

I'm planning on using Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires and I can get them in either 275/40/17s or the 285/30/18s... so tire selection is fine.

As for offset, what would some good guide lines be with these size wheels/tires keeping in mind that I'll be using Corksport/Mariah/M-Sport or similar fender flares and adjustible height coil-overs?

One more thing... in my search for wheels I've been leaning towards a few wheels including Volk's GT-U. I'm not sure how to read their size/offset chart.

Can anyone tell me what the A/B/C columns mean? I'm not sure what to make of it.

The A / B / C is high, medium, and low disc.
This mainly has to do with what kinda brakes you're running.

If you got stock brakes, you can run offsets in the C column or low-disc.
The stock brakes do not need additional clearance for the calipers.

If you're running MASSIVE big brakes, then you need to run A column or high-disc.
This allows the rims to "bend" around the huge brake caliper.

Notice, the next column to the right is "lip" depth in mm.
This is where the high / medium / low disc got it's name from.
Big lip = low disc.

Thank you RETed. Now I guess the question becomes one of style. Will the GT-U's still look good in the group A catagory? I guess I'll have to find some pics to see how Volk handeled the increased clearance. On some styles of wheels I don't mind the curved spoke look... but on the GT-U's? I'll have to see it first. Hopefully they just used a deeper dish to the wheel hub area.

On a side note, I know there are Endless Big Brake kits out there for the FC. And there's always going to be Willwood setups. Does anyone know if there are any AP Racing kits though?

I am running a 275/40/17 on a 17x10 +35 in the rear of my car currently. I currently have in the front a 17x8 +25 with a 225 50 on it. The car has Tien HA coilovers, anyone think it would be possible forme to run a 245/40/17 on the front with some bending of the inner fender lip?

18x8,5 ET25 front and 18x9,5 ET25 rear...

i will show some pictures when they are fitted!

here a quick edit with photoshop of the wheels i ordered, only the size doesnt really match reality... in reality they are even a bit larger



when i get the wheels, they go to the paintshop and the center will be painted black
also together with the wheels i will puit on a silkroad rma8 coilover kit!
