Im not surprised. I thought they were stock too, but they just looked... kinda right... My buddy had a stock FC with 17x10 all around, with 50mm front fenders... No one ever knew the car was modded. It just fills out the front so well...
I kinda say the 45 is too much... 40 side wall is fine to keep speedo the same on 17s... but if those are the sizes you want... Thats a lot of stretch (I think).... Not sure how low you plan to go, but those sizes with tires are going to fit no question.
(I keep stating this info just cause Im not sure some of you are looking through the entire thread, and Im trying to help out... I have 245/35-265/35 on 18x8/9 +35.. My setup is much different though, I guess. Im not slammed onto the ground... Just sitting on the cusp of the top of the tire.)

well, I better take back what I said... I guess it depends what your car came with stock... Mine had 16s, so for my gearing, the 40 sidewall was what I needed. (ugh... I think it was... Im forgetting now, and this computer wont load up the miata tire calculator to check.)
Keep the tire sizes your talking about if you plan to slam it... see where it sits and maybe go more tire next time.... I dont wanna tell you more tire than you can fit at whatever height your looking for.. I would think you could get away with 225/245...

I think the 40 side wall will be a little better but for tire maybe ill go a little bigger up front and probably stay with the 235 in the back, because I don't want to much traction on a stock fc vert to the point of where it won't get skidding.
I found that 17x8+30 225/40 would be good for up front and 17/9+30 245/40 would be good in the rear. Should be good till I get coils then I'd probably need spacers but thayll be good for a few months.
So I have fallen in love with the BBS LM set-up on the GTUs of Scrapp's a few pages back. I love the stance and the fit. I want to do either that or something similar with my GTUs.
Assuming that 18x8 and 18x9, both at +35 will get me there, I was wondering if anyone has tried other OEM wheels. I have seen some Mustang wheels (not my style) that fit well but how about some of the other Import cars that share the same bolt pattern?
I just looked at the 350Z gen 1 Track wheels which I have always loved and they are SO close:
(18×8 30mm offset / 18×8.5 33mm offset)
How about G35/G37? Anyone running those?

would i be able to run 17x9 +12 front and rear, no spacers? i dont care if i need overfenders. i just want to know if they will work, i have hsd coilovers. also how big of fenders do you think ill need?
If you don't care about whether you need wider fenders, then obviously they will work.
The lower the offset, the more the wheel sticks out, the more suspension clearance you will have. They will be very wide, and without enough grip in the front, the car won't turn very well.
A spacer can only lower the offset. You should probably get something with a higher offset and use spacers if you just want a wider tread. That way you have more options in adjusting it.

and in this case would +25 be better? im just not sure where to pick as a start. i know the stock rims are 16x7 +40 and i have 17x7 +40 an the car right now and i need to run positive camber to clear the coils.
Initially in my search, I was looking for 17x10 +25 all around... Maybe +30. (my only body work I had planned was Meriah Mode 55mm front fenders... Leave the back alone.)
Ended up with 18x8/9 +35, stock body with rolled front fenders. (Technically +25 once I get off my butt and flip the faces.)
You should decide what your looking to achieve in the end.

Okay everyone, soon I'm picking up some white Motegi FF6's, 17x7 +42 with 205/50/17 tires for my stock vert. For super cheap. I realize that the offset is a bit high, so I'm looking at using some 8mm spacers all around, to bring the total offset now to +34, assuming I can do basic math. Sound legit to you all? I checked my specs with the v2.0 page Reted posted on fc3spro, and I definitely trust his judgement, haha.

Does anyone happen to know what wheels theses are and where I can find them?
