16" tires are getting very uncommon, especially in wide sizes. You will seriously be much better off with 17s.

Unless you go with a custom wheel, it's very doubtful that you'll find anything in a 9-10" width at 16" which will work on the FD. As mentioned, tires in those sizes are generally race tires as well.

Depending on tire size, alignment, suspension upgrades and fender modifications: Yes.

If you want wide *** 16s: Kodiak Racing makes forged 16 inch wheels up to 14 inches wide i believe.

http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/prices.html

CCW Also makes their Classics and Classic/4s in up to 16 inches WIDE on a 16, 17 or 18 inch diameter wheel (as per what i can tell from their website).

http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...php?id=Classic

You are definitely looking at 3 piece wheels too to pull something like this off: I know SSR Professors come up to 10.0 J wide for 16s (SP1-R) and up to 12.5 J to 13 inch J wide for certain 17s (SP1 or MS1-R)

Your options are more limited with mono-block wheels but you can get somewhat close.

Either way price wise the setup will cost around 3000 dollars up with tires.

I love when you use that line. I get a good laugh out of it.

^^^

I guess I need new material :-)

Seriously, wide tires for small diameter rims are getting tough to find. My friend's father in law had this problem with his vintage Pantera.. damned thing had 345's on the back on 15" Campagnolo rims.

There are a few things you need to make sure first:

Brake clearance: If you want to run a big brake kit, you need to run the appropriate disk (different per wheel manufacturer), to clear the brakes.

Suspension: You need to make sure you coilovers/suspension can support the ride height that you want while still keeping drivability.

Suspension Modifications: If you will go extremely low, i would get roll center adjusters, and other suspension parts so that you can still retain the car's handling.

Tires: If you want to be tire flush and run a meatier tire, you should probably roll, pull the fenders and setup the alignment accordingly. If you want to stretch the tire and do "wheel flush/VIP style", then you need do the same thing, but the alignment will most likely be different.

Best way is to try to measure the car up using a drop string/hub measurements or borrow some spacers and stack them on your current wheels till you have the wheel where you want it. Then you can do some offset and width calculations.

That's on my car with 17 x 9 + 20 with spacers all the way around (while i order custom wheels later). I have a 245/40/17 tire, which is more than enough to support stock 280-300 horsepower. Coilovers are GAB-Sports on all the way low setting with removed helper springs. I plan on getting custom Penske coilovers later. My camber is not crazy (in fact, i cannot even adjust it right now because i need Camber arms to do so).

Wheel and tire fitment/car's stance and suspension setup both have to work hand in hand and be done together otherwise the car won't drive right, or look good.
