Do you plan on testing non-RB pad compounds (e.g., Hawk)? As this kit doesn't require a change in pads for the rear, I'm sure track folks would be interested in hearing how their current pads compare to the RB. As Hawk is arguably the most popular in the FD world seems like it would be a good product to test against.

I am using Hawk pads in the rear so I will be able to give some feedback though my track experience isnt as large as others who are already participating in this thread. I have had wilwood superlites on the front with stock in the rear and was having a problem with the rear stepping out under hard breaking on the track.
Of course I will have to finish my rebuild this weekend before any brake testing will happen at all.
Thanks for everyone participating in this thread. I have been looking for a good solution for the rears and with all the info here I finally found something to pull the trigger on.
Thanks Howard for your work!
Also thanks to Racing Brake for putting this kit together for the FD community.

Meantime just to keep everyone up to date, we are shipping the first batch of pre-orders! The brake pads are preloaded and the caliper is preassembled to the adaptor for your easy installation.

For the rear it is FMSI #D332 which Hawk has offered Blue and HT-10 compounds only. We no longer stock their Blue compound because it is very unfriendly to the rotor (if you do not heat up properly you can easily score the rotor), but for your choice we are listing Blue which will be available on order basis same as front.

Again RB brake pads are being offered as an option. Our brake system are not designed to exclude any other brake pad manufactures in any way except you have to make sure that:
1. Brake pad you choose will not have the brake deposit issue
2. You should not use street pads and try to race on the track which may over stress the rotor and create surface cracks on the rotor and shorten the rotor life
These two warning are in our front page of our two-piece rotor selection:
http://www.racingbrake.com/Twopiece_Rotors_s/519.htm
You may agree that Howard is more to test RB brake system performance with proper brake pad setup that RB provides. As time goes by we are sure other racers will contribute their experience with other pad manufactures and various compounds.

I have the same brake setup in front with Porterfield R4 pads, and Hawks in the rear,
and am interested to see how the rear upgrade works out for you.

Btw guys, Ray Crowe is selling reman'ed rear calipers for 115 a pop. I picked up a pair, already painted a nice silver which should match my titanium fronts pretty well

Gee Mark, I thought you already blew $2,500 on them a couple months ago. Didn't you post back in May that you'd already ordered your kit?
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=415
I'm confused. You were apparently sure enough of receiving them that you've been listing them as mods in your signature on V8rx7forum.com for the last month or so...
http://www.v8rx7forum.com/411323-post3.html
What gives?

i, today, received a swap set of calipers for the betas i have been running. the betas had aluminum pistons and the new caliper's pistons are stainless steel.
i also received today a set of 900 rear pads. i now have what i need to go tracking.
BTW, there are a few other important updates on the calipers and they, of course, are the configuration that will be shipped.
i do apologise for the delay as to doing a track evaluation but running aluminum pistons would have been a waste of time and money. i actually would have gone out with the alum pistons but lacked the rear 900s. i am leaving w the wifey for a weeks vacation saturday so perhaps some of you will be ontrack before me.
perhaps someone running real race rubber since as i previously mentioned i don't do slicks. my car is dual purpose and having spent 22 seasons actually racing i enjoy a couple of clicks off full trailer prep.
i will be at Blackhawk as soon as i return and i will find out just what these brakes are worth even w Toyos..
in the meantime i do hope some of you get out before me.

Dear ******** (Jimblab)-
RB isn't charging people until they ship them. So literally.... before I blow $2500 I would like to see wtf they are capable of.
Some people plan on racing with them... instead of jerking off on them in the depths of their garage like you have been with your neverending RX-7 build fairytale. You probably had to change colors/engines just to keep it exciting when you pull your pants down all by your lonesome with your FD after 7 years of it being in pieces.
Your completed project if that ever happens should be perfect for trips to 7-Eleven for big gulps to cool that big head of yours.
You are a serious *sshole with some childish complex certainly... it is the only explanation for coming off as the biggest ***** ever on way too many forums.
Get a grip dude and most importanty get a life. Do you have one away from the internet... or is the weather in WA that crappy you don't go outside.
I'm awaiting your nutswinger pal from TX to chime in shortly..... he must be your only friend.

This guy is meaningless to me...but in case it matters to anyone else, I figured I would provide an example of what a classless bully looks like. The following drivel is from my PMs ... Defense of this type of correspondence is unfathomable. I'll no longer waste my time replying to this character's venom.
It's relevant because I say it's relevant. Get a ******* clue.
Wow, well excuse the hell out of me. Where are my manners?
If you've been around that long, then you should know what to expect when you stick your nose into my business uninvited.
Do you honestly think I give a **** what you think?

I would like to see this thread stay on topic also. Or maybe start a new "RB BBK TEST " thread so we can all see how well these work, especially on the track, because that is where all the real capabilities of these will be seen.

I already PMed a mod to have it cleaned up.
Man, I am *drooling* at the prospect of getting the kit in the mail soon. I doubt I'll have time to roadrace the car anytime soon, but they'll still look sexy installed on the car
