This is for an FC

So I am going to be getting a paint job in the next six months, and I am now deciding what I want to do externally on the car before the paint.

One thing that comes to mind I would love to have same size tires and wheels front and rear.

So with 30MM over sized fenders (like the shine ones) what fits in the front?

Will a 255 clear in the front and if so what offset?

I am running a 255 40 17 on the rear with an 8in wheel and +30. Will that clear on the front, maybe with the aid of a small spacer if necessary.

 

you will need a 10-20mm spacer (1/2 inch should do). something in that range. i've mounted 255 +27 on the front with coilovers, but it was reeeally close to the shock body. so i would try to keep the total offset around 20 or less.

 

if you have the wheels in the rear already... then try bolting the rear wheel on the front, then you will know for sure if it will fit or not.

 

Josh: When you ran that tire size, were you on stock fenders or wide? How was the clearance on the inside of the fender?

 

I have put my 245/45-16 on 8" wide rim +30 offset in front with my stock "lip rolled under" fenders and it works fine with negative camber. Normally I run 245/4516 on 7.5 wide +30 and the others on the rear.

Put the 255 rears up front and see how it fits with stock fenders and what needs to be done BEFORE you paint it.

 

For 30mm wide front fender you can run this:

9" +5 offset
9.5" +10 offset

That should allow enough room for any sidewall flex and nice grippy tire setup.

I currently have 20mm front fenders and run a

18x9.5 +15 with 235/40/18

 

Oh for one other board member I did this setup since he also wanted to rotate.

BUTTTT:

Ran a 20mm studded spacer up front to net a +15 offset.

Running Falken RT615 255/40/17 tires front and rear it allowed him to rotate his

WHEEL AND TIRE COMBO in all four directions. RT615's are assymetrical.

245's fit under stock fenders with just the inner lip rolled, w/ 30mm offset. i now have 24mm offset w/ 255's (the +27 was a typo). These def needed rolling. i just went crazy with a bat, since they are going int eh garbage anyway. (i have 20mm flares in the garage, but i'm not mounting them until paint time.) the 255 +24 setup is super close to my coilovers. I would try to keep the offset closet to 20 to allow sidewall flex.
