I just installed the Improved Racing links front and back a few months back... here's a shot of the rears. You guys think I'll have issues with this? I was planning on getting them adjusted when I get corner balanced...

^^^^

That looks remarkably similar, but for what looks like a custom AL spacer at the rear, instead of the steel spacer/cone washer I'm using.

Update. I tried these at the track this weekend, and either the long bolt flexes too much, or the arms are too long and reduces leverage on the bar. Made for a saggy rear end. I went back to the stockers, with a jam nut and split washer.

Which did you try, the "improved racing" version ?

With the stock links I assume you cannot adjust for a lowered car ? That is, neutral (no pre-load) at rest ?

What to do ?

BTW: Looking at some of the end, it seems there are "high mis-alignment" rod-ends. Perhaps that's the ticket ?

Thanks,
:-) neil

I have a feeling that the long spacer acts adds a delay in action due to it's length and range of motion it must travel before acting, than a regular high-misalignment (necked-ball) rod-end (see pic).

Perhaps adax's design with either a necked-ball or 1/4-spacer would be best.

:-) neil

I found a design note that shows that with the Aurora 3066-M12 rod-ends that Adax used, and with a bolt through it, the degree of misalignment is a whopping 49-degrees vs. just 17-degrees clevis-mounted (sandwiched).

Neil,
Alas my car is with Ray at PFS currently so I don't have access to it. As soon as I get it back I'll try and remember to take a picture. If I forget please remind me!!

Regards,
Crispy

Bumping ancient thread.

How did the improved racing rear endlinks work out for you?

I'm in the same situation with installing coilovers and not comfortable with the amount of thread available for the rear endlink bolt.

I have had these endlinks on my FD for a couple of years now, no issues plus their warranty service is great.

The problem shown in this picture is why I am looking at this thread, as my FD is having the same issue.

Has anyone tried swapping the stock links left to right?

Then the links would be further inboard.

Just eyeballing it, it looks like it would clear, but I haven't actually tried it yet.

To answer my own question, no, swapping them left to right will not work.

I swapped them, and then started jacking up the right side wheel.

The joint reached maximum angle at least an inch before getting to ride height.

Putting the car on the ground would have broken the sway bar links if left in the swapped positions.

the Improved Racing rear links should have a little more clearance because the rod ends have a lower profile than the stock links. Plus, you can make them shorter so they tuck inside the rim.

Thanks for the Improved Racing pic. I have their (now discontinued) trailing arms, guess it is time to get their sway bar links.

How do you set these up? (looking at the Improved racing ones front and rear)
the end goal its to get no preload when the car is sitting on all fours right?
