Talking

Chuck,

Don't clean the car too much or the rust and salt keeping it together will fail.
HaHa!

Yea i no what you mean, I have found out that the driver side fender was bent before and has been fixed, well i am going to try and find one that is good to replace it with.

O Chuck you ready to do some tuning in about 2 months.

You think i should do a Half bridge or full bridge

Also the other stuff i am doing is :

Electric Water pump
Twin 25 row oil coolers
Front Mount IC
Replacement Front Bumper
1600cc Secondaries
Twin Fuel pumps
Fuel pressure Reg.

I can think of anything else at the moment.

The use of the car will dictate what type of ports you do.

Are you using your old rotor housing or buying new ones?
I have two in good condition that are ported between street and race.
Could bring them to the next meeting if you want to swap or something.

Well i am so pissed off, Cant get the water pump off, Cant get the Flywheel Counterweight off, and the Front Bolt is a pain!!!

On the water pump, I cant get it to come up off the 4 Studs, i got one of the studs out, but i cant get the other 3 to move, Nor can i make the pump housing come up and off the block. I have tried everything in a can to try and lube the rusty stuff on the studs. I have another water pump housing, and i am not even going to use the water pump agian, But i hate to cut this off the motor block.

I have never had this many problems taring down a motor. Why me Why Now

yeah I think there are two trends right now. Full bridge and a gt45 as well as the step before that being a half bridge with a t70. I've been seeing this combo alot lately including thats what I'm going to do myself. I think that will satisfy me enough not to go full bridge and gt45.

lol yeah I think you where, haha. So what was the outcome of the t70 and half bridge? I just sent my plates off to brian to have them half bridged and I'm in the process of selling my mpt61 so that I can buy a mpt70.

Well after 3 days of work finally got the motor apart, there was so many parts that would not move.

Also found my water seal problem, Rear rotor, center iron, gasket poped

Also i have 3 bad bearing, So i will have to send them off, but i am considering just buying front and rear SAT gears from the Rx-8 and just get the Rotors bearing replaced.

I think it is about the same price for the sat gears vs replacing the bearing, the Rx8 ones are also harder. So that means a safe 9K redline.

What you guys think.

I will have some pics tonight

Well I never got to fully max it out but, I got up there so to say. Ended up with 480rwhp@ 19/20psi, I had severe boost leaks and couldn't turn the boost any higher. I think it would have done alot more if I would have prepped the engine for dyno time. BDC has the T70 now, I'd look out for him to max it this summer time..some where in the mid 500s at least.

I'd say, if you are wanting to rev that high...your best bet is having the rotating assembly balanced, it'll make life 10x easier.

I dont really want to hit 9K, tell you the truth I dont think i ever hit the 8K Redline on my motor before. Just like the fact that I could hit it.

Ok well i ported one of my Iron's. I am going to just do the half bridge. Hopefully i can still spool that big *** gt45.

Here are the pictures, I am really getting good at doing bridge porting, this will be my 9th Iron that i have done. There is just one BOBO in there. Very Very Small

I am doing Bridge Porting to 6-Port Irons, if anyone wants a set done.

Also, You see that black line, this is the MAX i can do the bridge to, On my template it only goes to where i have it now, you think i should extend it to the black market to help with the spooling, Or will this create to much overlapping of ports?

On the Primary ports i am just going to make it the same size of the Secondary minus the bridge.

Should sound really nice when done. BRAP BRAP BRAP,

I didn't see any clearancing of the strut tower, does that turbo fit with clearance? Typically turbos that big require some strut tower hammering.

I'd also suggest you square off the leading edge of your exhaust port, provides more exhaust energy to spin that turbo.

I am going to be cutting and welding a 90 to that turbo to clear it.

Got any pictures of the exhaust porting?

Like you have seen this is what mine looks like now
