I attended the 7 club meeting tonight, and although I met some nice fellas, I couldn't stay the whole time, I have work at 8pm. I never got to meet this guy Chuck.

I didn't really get too much of anyone actually there at the meet that would work on my car, but I think I may use Phillip's buddy to work on mine.

I'm still looking for a mechanic soon.

Someone please help me out.
I was the guy in the riced out black 240sx

Thanks, but unfortunately, it doesn't cut it compared to my 7. I've been through many many many different types of cars, but the 7 has always been my favorite car.

Help me revive her.

Give Bryan at Maz-Max a call. 713-896-8005, he is the service manager there and is a RX-Club member and will give you honest answers. He is also a FD and FC owner too!

Your other alternative is to bring her out to the next club meeting on the 3rd and have some of the resident "pros" take a look at her.

PS - Beware of rotary "mechanics" named Gabriel.

rough idle, and fuel smell.. Check your fuel injectors to see if there is a leak, and mabey have them cleaned.

Might be flooded.. esp if you were smelling gas. Have you checked the plugs to see if they were wet with fuel?

First thing you should check (if you havent already) is the two lower spark plugs.. take one (or two) of them out and see if they are wet with gas, if so then the engine is flooded and there are some simple steps outlined here on the forum on how to un-flood a rotary.

Otherwise, I might be inclined to believe that when you got hit one or more of your vacuum hoses got knocked loose, there are like 100 + connections where they could have come loose or broken under the intake and in various other spots around the engine.

Where in the area do you live?

Fuel smell in the engine area is most often caused by the fuel pulsation dampner leaking. Any FD that has not had it changed is a firebomb waiting to explode!
The rubber nipple on top breaks off and causes fuel to leak.

Considering that you were hit in the rear; the pump or it's lines may have been damaged and causing low fuel pressure.

The only damage in the front would be due to SHOCK breaking something that is brittle. This also includes the engine harness if it is still the original. This is another item that is a time bomb.

im around the nw area, mainly around 249 and beltway 8. my car was sandwiched so it could be anything. i'm goin to try to unflood the car tomorrow morning. truthfully i dont see any kind of leaks but i do see smoke and some smell fuel when i try to start the car. everything is still original (other then the usual tune-up stuff), i barely hit 52k miles on the car.

Yea i was going to say that was high for the sound of the motor.

Where are you located, I do alot of On-Site rotary work... Ask Keith,Phil,Roland, ect

Check the MAP hose connection, or the TPS (Need a Ohm meter for this)
