what did you end up doing? I too need a rebuild on my engine. and I just want stock.

 

rear side housing and rear rotor housing were damaged...new parts & rebuild kit from mazda is nearly $6k.

Your kidding right? A reman mazda engine is 2800 last I checked.

he mean sourcing NEW housings. yes it can easily cost 6k. last i checked a forum member locally sourced one of the last mazda engines they had lying around. but theres till private individuals and other members.

 

6k? Thats a kick in between... i will be building shortly and would appreciate feedback about your process. Also in the fort worth area, planning to single turbo and hopefully semi pp the housings and buy a typhoon intake to match. I however will take some time as the rest of the car is also still being pieced together.


Not sure how much this helps but atkins has brand new housings for not sooo horrid a price.
