Guess who's back in business???
Don Marvel is back in business, just like old times from his garage.
I have been in every step of my rebuild and seeing him port and the end product is a treat.
My first engine done by him, did more RWHP and RWTQ, than any of the 3 builds at RP by far.
Before anyone jumps to trash him, every builder/tuner has had their share of bad engines and problems with customers, so resist to flame here, please.
Everyone deserves a second chance in life and if Michael Vik, Martha Stewart, Jimmy Swaggart, Peter Farrel, etc. got one, Don sure deserves one too.
The price for the rebuild, is most reasonable and I can't complaint.
I know Dr.Bob, TitoRX7, Marshal, Trinity and few others here, know Don has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the rotary world.
I sure can testify first hand, now that I have seen the whole process of rebuilding my engine.
And for that, I give x 2.

Does anyone have Don's number? My phone crashed years ago and I lost it. Now I'm looking to get another 7 and would love to get back in touch with The Man.

My spare engine assembly experience with Don Marvel today was AWESOME, ask Silent Ninja 8!!!
The way he prepares and assembles all rotors springs, rings and seals is amazing.
He has a wealth of knowledge and a ton of experience, I'm impressed.
Marshall missed out today for staying out late playing Candy Land.

^+1. I can't even tell you how much I learned just in the couple hours of assembly we've done so far. Don has so much experience putting these together and I am enjoying every bit of the build. Definitely an incredible learning experience, and learning from him really makes everything click together on how every piece of the engine works. Can't wait to finish it and see it all put together, that is if Robert doesn't have an old folks moment again and forget something LOL

I don't think he would mind at all and you are close to Rockwell.
I'm planing on a second spare engine for a possible track project and you will be welcome, unlike Marshall.

Awesome.
I've been out to his place once before, I'm not too far from his place. Lemme know when y'all plan on doing it and hopefully I can make it out, it'll be quite a learning experiance I'm sure.

Will do, but it won't happen for a while, since I just finished this spare engine for my street car and the track project is still in the works.
I'll remember to do so, since few have PM me for the same thing.

Frankly I'm getting kind of sick of this hush-hush attitude that people are taking with Don and what happened at the end of Marvelspeed. If he's interested in re-establishing a reliable customer base, he should be open in addressing what happened in the past and dealing with old customers on an individual basis. I'm not saying that he has to flip through his Rolodex and call up all of his old customers to apologize or explain - but I don't think his information and past should be so tightly guarded either. Don is an incredible source of rotary knowledge and expertise, it would be a real shame if he had to continue working out of his garage for the rest of his life, especially with the lack of reputable rotary-specific shops in Texas.
Don't take this personally Robert but I think it reflects poorly on you to put yourself in the position of acting as one of Don's outlets for communication. I'm not saying this because I'm upset about the past and feel like Don and I have unfinished business, it just seems kind of underhanded and unprofessional.

I somewhat disagree. While I see your view wompa where it might come across that way, I disagree that he should have to come on here and explain himself. His past and what happened with Marvelspeed between then and now is mostly personal in nature. Which I for one don't believe it's Roberts, mine, or anyone else's place/business to talk about his personal life or require him to do so. No offense intended, just stating my view that it's not really our place to discuss Don's/Marvelspeeds personal matters/life. All that being said, you are absolutely right that Don is a huge source of rotary knowledge and in the little time I've spent around him I've learned more than probably the last couple of years put together. which I really do hope he makes a full return and is able to get his knowledge back to the public.

There is no secret conspiracy about Don's phone.
I have said where to find him, what I did to find him and PM for more info, if need be.
If you are looking for an apology for some unfinished business with him, well you know where to go.
I see no problem you finding him and talking to him face to face.
Are you expecting the same apology from Steve Khan engine that blew???
I'm just curious.
Silent Ninja 8 hit on the head.

hey Rob, that was really cool of you to announce your great experience working with Don. and yes he deserves a second chance, that's why i waited to do my new engine with him during and after all the problem he ran through, his engines has always pleased me on performance and long lasting engine( no headaches ). the only mechs that i have given my car to with no worries that they will be doing a good job has been Don and the guys(mech) from Puerto Rico only. good job Don , keep doing your thing.

Not to dwell on the conspiracy theory , but all these people know where to go to find Don:
Marshall
Kidd
Titorx7
Dr.Bob (racer7)
BDC
Silent Ninja 8
duffman692002
rotarynerdette
At least, that's my impression.
