Cool

I just posted the MSR track day info on all M3 forums, that I belong to.
These guys like going to MSR and love racing.
Maybe we'll get a full field now and competition from the M3's.
So gas up, tune your cars, change the oil, check tires and be ready to race.
We won't accept any excuses, since you have had pleanty of time to prepare.

I've updated the registration page for the Focus Day at MSR. This should now accurately reflect those checks that I now have. If you don't see your name there please email me! tim@dfw-rx7.com

I'm not marked as paid, though you'd told me you thought you received my check.

I haven't gotten a response to the email I sent about it either.

Don't worry, Tim is sometimes slow with club stuff. He'll get an email back to you soon and update the registration page.

I can wait for the 3rd!! I haven't gotten to drive my car much this year.

Yes, I believe I did get yours. If we don't have enough people I will have to cancel the event. There just isn't enough money in the club's account to make up that much of a difference.

I was just a little concerned since I'm not marked as paid up on the registration site is all.

Registration update

We currently have 15 drivers registered and 10 paid. We've got less than two weeks before the event and we're only half way there. If you guys want this to happen I'll need all of your help to get folks registered and paid up. Geez, I feel dirty, like a host on a Telethon. Uhg!

Another party and I are interested if this is a true "Focus" day where we don't share the track with the regular MSR members or if the time is heavily weighted in OUR favor vs. what happened in 2003....<<snivel, whine>>....:::blankstare:::...if SSixspeed goes, his CMC 3rdgen Camaro will clean up again just like his 4thgen SS did last time (Anyone remember the black FD spinning out trying to stay up with the orange monster...?) since we're talking fast car trash.....my own poor little 1stgen will easily be the lowest HP car out there since it's virtually bone stock right down to the exhaust system....105 ponies to the flywheel.....at least the clutch is fixed and strong. That's virtually the only difference from last time except for all the stereo work and weatherstripping....

ps. Everyone is actually wearing Swiss watches if they're still locked in the '80's mentality of needing a watch on their wrist to begin with...

^Not again. For $100 we don't get to tell MSR what to do, we thank them for letting us come out and get a couple sessions in!

MSR dues are $2400 up front, $75 a month and then another $20 for each half hour session. Charging us a one time fee of $100 for a couple sessions or more is a bargain. Ask Nick what he pays in fees and how far he has to drive for track days elsewhere.

If your attitude is that for $100 MSR must feel you're more important then their paid members you best keep your money.

Until the last line, you almost sounded like a reasonable guy...too bad you had to take the cheap shot.....Look, if you feel the Miata guys are somehow more privileged than the RX-7 guys since they DIDN'T have to share the track some years ago in their "focus" event, well, I feel sad for you. I tried the "down low" channels to get an answer because the registration site actually calls this a "RX-7/RX-8 Focus Day." I was curious as to whether things had changed because of this statement, "The D/FW RX-7 club will have the track on September 3rd, at 12:00pm." Remember, in 2003, Tim was TOLD what weekend his event had to be on. This year he had a huge choice. Maybe other "focus" events aren't signing up anymore because they are also tired of the "privileged-just-to-use-the-track" attitude you exhibit. Business is clearly down to allow Tim such a choice, simple as that.

Regarding Nick, he and I are of the same mind when it comes to this event. Even with tons of disposable income, actually racing in the CMC series (Read about his podiums in GrassRootsMotorsports...), and paying all those fees as you mentioned, Nick still doesn't believe we should be sharing the track as much as we did in 2003 for that $100.......a little bit, sure, but on a Focus day, the marque in question should be the "focus", especially at $2,000 for 5 hours. The track doesn't care how many RX-7s are on it.

My turn....maybe DamonB can bring two friends who can pay Tim ASAP so our "attitude" can stay home where he wants us......the registration is stalled at (15 drivers - Tim =) 14 drivers....
