Well here you go - I think we found the problem:







No wonder we couldn't find third gear - it was sitting at the bottom of the transmission case.

 

That's your handiwork right there Scott.

 

Those pictures just don't do it justice. Ya really gotta see it in person to appreciate the carnage.

 

So Scott, how many miles are left on the remaining 5 gears?

 

How the transmission held together after grenading like that is a mystery. The whole rear seal and bearing was gone as well - nothing left but a scarred bearing race. Obviously the source of a lot of our oil leak problems.

Anyhoo...

The new turbo drivetrain is in. The brakes are installed but the passenger side rear caliper is a little bitch. We need a new one.

SO - before I get a new one... does anyone have a spare passenger side rear caliper for 5 lug vented disc?

After we get the caliper fixed - we are ready for testing and tuning.

Something is wrong here.... almost a month left and we are ready to test???

NEXT weekend the plan is to take the car to our top secret test facility and run the dogshit out of the car.

 

A litttle saw dust mixed with the oil would have solved that problem.

Its official! We fixed all of our old oil leaks!!! Pressure washed the car and it oil free...

...then we blew an oil cooler line.



I guess that is one of the perks of actually having some time to test the car... you have time to break it!!!
