^^^ When we had transponder problems, we almost turned on each other for a second but ended up with a heroic fix! Didn't help that we wasted 15 minutes running laps that weren't scored and another 15 minutes fixing the transponder but we came up with a solution and made it work!
We should have spent MORE time in the pit communicating with the driver and less time in the motor home ******* off. Being short on safety gear so we could all be behind the wall was the problem. We need more safety gear (nomex and helmets) and everyone needs a radio or at least have a portable radio that stays in the pit at all times.
As far as being in the penalty box - every one of us had a trip or two. Lots of comedy happening there but I think I'd rather be on the track and watch the rest on youtube after the race.

FWIW - The thing about the banned technology award is the technology you are using must be banned from all types of racing, not just something that doesn't belong on the car, such as the sucker fans or the dynamic airbrake. You guys gotta think of something that is truly BANNED from all forms of motorsports.

That Toyo truck also had a supercharger.. they had some old (unpainted) white 1/4 PVC pipe connected to the smog pump blowing into a hole in the air cleaner.

I actually had someone approach me about joining a LeMons team for the Houston run in October. So we might be running an LS1-powered govt. surplus military cop car if the auction price is right
Might keep that tack-dropper for our team in that case :P

Okay all, here is your chance.
I have one (maybe two since Phil is not only in the closet but on the fence) opening for the June 5-7 Lemons race in Lousyana:
http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/noproblem09/
$250 - Your share of the entry fees
($50) Lemons license if you don't have one or one of the accepted racing licenses
$100 - You are responsible for purchasing one tire for the car
($450) You will also need your own fire suit, fire proof underwear, helmet, gloves, shoes.
You will also be asked to help pay for gas for the race car. Any wrench time or parts are also appreciated.
PM Me.

Update
I can' keep a secret from you guys.
This is what I've been up to:
Before you even start... I have confirmed with the organizers that air conditioning is ACTUALLY safety equipment and exempt from the $500 car total worth.
Its not done yet - but 90 percent so. The AC is going to be strapped to a steel frame under the roll cage bar. The generator sits in a steel tray welded to the car and will be strapped down. The copper pipe you see is the exhaust I am fitting to the generator exhaust.
All I have to do is put in the plexiglass windows I made and seal up all the little holes.

hey what happened to the tail lights? Oh yeah and another thing. You are a redneck if you have a window unit in your 7. Hey how many btu? I have heard of the rx-7 gtu But Ive never heard of the rx-7 btu? LOL I guess Ive seen it all now! Ok now you need a helmet with a small hole in it. then make a induction box for the ac with a hose that blows cold air into the helmet via the hose. LIke a old vacuum hose. LOL Ground Control to Major Tom.
