Hi guys, just a bit of curiosity here. I ordered a T04E kit from XS on the GB here some months back, along with a PFC mapped by them. I know the mapping is going to be somewhat conservative, but does anyone have any idea what power that base map will produce approx.? Thing is the dyno we have here has no wideband O2, so I don't want to mess around with the maps too much without it, so I'll basically be using that base map for the most part. Mods are:

XS TO4E w/ 1.00 exhaust A/R
PFC mapped by XS for 1 bar & pump gas
STOCK engine
1300cc sec. injectors
SX FPR
Racing Beat Alum. flywheel
RP fuel pump
GReddy FMIC

BTW I will have an EGT gauge with the sensor in the manifold. How far can I use this for tuning & can anyone give some advice for tuning by this? I've know it's not the best thing but it's all I have. Temps. to shoot for, and any other info would be great. Thanks.

Chris, sorry to get off topic here a little, but how does your car run w/ the reprogrammed ecu. Have you done any redline runs?? I am getting ready to send mine off and just wondered what your opinions were on the ecu. I'm a little redline shy after what occurred the last time.

So, I guess you popped your engine, huh? Was this with the PFC & a single? Sorry to be nosy.

 

No, when I popped I was pretty much running the Stage III M2 setup. After I popped I really didn't intend to go single, but once I got going everything kinda snowballed. I am now finishing up breaking in the engine and want DESPERATELY to get into the boost, just kinda afraid. Its like falling off a horse. You know you have to get back on, but your *** is scared to death. My mods are very similar to yours, but I am running a T04s & a ported engine. Let me know what you think of the ecu.

 

base map is not changed by XS! Alot of guys say that the Hiddeb base map is changed but trust me...It's not! That is a load of crapolla!...I recently hooked up the datalogit to my XS tuned PFC...XS didnt change anything on the base map...But the other 3 maps are changed significantly...

So how has your car been running after getting the PFC tuned by XS. I'm curious because I'm getting mine back sometimes this week. But if nothing has changed in the Base Maps then I feel like it was a waste to send it out then.

Are you guys talking about the base map its self or the map that xs tunned for the pfc. I think the leave the base map itself alone and modify the fuel correction maps for the top end. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I'm still trying to get me on of those datalogit.

 

For me, I'm just talking about the map xs put in the pfc to suit my single turbo setup. I am interested however in how Rotary93's car is running with the maps XS sent in his PFC without any tuning (their BASE SINGLE TURBO map).

So, does anyone have any tips on tuning conservatively by EGTs alone?

 

The base map IS changed on his xs tuned PFC, however he paid for them to re map it for a 3bar sensort and they DID NOT. Don't know why but he did not get what he paid for.
