Wrong Manifold!?

Hey guys,
I have my beautiful looking SFP manifold here but the thing has got to be for a 2cnd gen. The turbine housing will not clear the frame rail in any way shape or form and its not even that big of a housing. Does anyone have a 2cnd gen SFP manifold pic so that I can confirm?
Thanks

Hahahahaha

I had a simular case. My custom SFP manifold was suppose to be for the 3rd gen. Well, the turbine housing flange fit fine, but the wastegate piping made it so it wouldn't even fit in the engine bay.

I had to have it cut off, welded, cut off, welded, etc, etc, to make it work.

The manifold works well now, but at first I was pretty pissed.

I had some bad experiences with them.

The first thing I did was rip that gay name plate off the wastegate line.

This is where I cut the 40o angle, and then I rotated the pipe 180o and welded it back on.

I had some weird satisfaction on ripping their logo off.

To weld stainless, you don't need a tig, the secret is setting the gas flow properly on a mig welder and having an extra gas cylinder and regulator to backpurge the stainless with argon, this will stop "drop through" and carbonizing of the stainless. If you set the mig up properly you can get quality welds on stainless. I have successfully welded stainless also with an a/c stick welder with backpurging, the secret is minimizing the contamination of the weld, tig seems to naturally sheild the weld quite well, where as the other methods need more gas...Max

Hmm.

True.

But Crispeed tell Mike to get manifold made from SFP. Mike Happy for he thought he could get trusted advice from a RENOWN memeber.

Mike get manifold.

Mike no happy.

Does Crispeed not recomend SFP any more?

Mike had to fix manifold himself. Now Manifold is a good one.

Thats interesting. I had thought SFP came recommended highly so I requested a quote from them. Then I requested a quote again. Then I realized the relationship with crispeed and requested a third time. This has been over a three month period. Hey Mike a least you got one made. I can't even get a price out of them. I wonder who else wants my $2500.00.

Crispeed, you want to help me out here. I faxed Paul the request and he was suppose to get to you for advise and then get back to me.

Ask Paul about the quote request from Carl. I gave all the info you needed.

I'm running the same manifold.. mine was a really tight fit to get over the studs of the rotor housing, so I just pulled the top 2 studs out and now use stainless steel allen bolts and I had to cut off the wastgate pipe and redo it since my car is J-spec (right hand drive) and there for I have steering linkage etc in the way... but no problems now, and I don't see any of the welds cracking ever as it is tiged on the inside as well as the outside... My only real gripe is it took them 2 1/2 moths to make and mail the damn thing out.. I think it was like $475 + shipping for the person who was looking for a price...
