What RWHP you guys putting down on pump gas?
303 to the wheels at 10 psi...steve kan tuned me. mods are in sig, stock ported motor and 93 octane.. as we upped the boost we didnt get an increase in horsepower becuase i have a stock mid pipe on without a cat and no intake filter on teh turbo...come spring time im going to fly steve kan out here again so he can retune me with a 3 in midpipe and intake filter...

I'm not sure where your located but this might be closer to you. their is also a gas station on the corner of ocean ave, right were it turns into nassau blvd, that sells unleaded 100 octane at $5.60 a gallon. and leaded 110 not sure of that price tho.

ive run this much boost for quite a while.
its tuned to 23 psi on pump gas but i dont like to push my luck that far
I've dynoed 371rwhp and 302 torque @ aprox 15.5 psi (according to my wolf display, which I now hear would read about 2 psi higher) .. that was on my tdo7-25g on 91 octane .. the highest octane we can get here is actually 94 octane, but that's an ethanol blend.. I have seen about 16.5psi (again according to the wolf) due to boost creep and nothing bad has happened... I'm tempted to try 18psi out, but a little scared.. timing is at about 14 degrees at 15psi.. I guess I could retard timing a bit more before upping the boost, but will extra retard lose me more power than the extra boost will provide? I guess we will have to see come this spring...

NYT - what kind of egt's are you running? Assuming you run a egt gauge
Well and I guess to make that information usefull....how far is your probe from the exh port...is it before or after the turbo?

I have, essentially, a PT67 BB. I dynoed 422 @1bar on 91 octane and 467 @1.3 bar with some 100 thrown in for ~96 octance rating. I drive 1.2bar everyday with 91 octance and no problems. I'd estimate this to be around 450 to the wheels based on my other dyno numbers.
I haven't even turned on my water/alcohol injection yet

I also have my FD (PowerFC) tuned on pump gas (93-94 octane) and its probably close to 500rwh based on the 128mph+ 1/4 mile traps.
There's no black magic behind it....good tunning and a supportive fuel system is the key.
I run a FJO wideband and I keep my A/Fs in the 10.8-11.0 above 17psi . the extra fuel cools things a bit.
As far as timing really depends on the porting.
Stock ports need more advance so I would say 12-13 @ 20psi to be safe.
Street ports will require less timing....but I would not run less then 10 degrees advance....EGTs start climbing. So depending on ports 10-12.
As far as the split....12 degrees is ok. If wanna try less... do it on the dyno to see if motor responds.
In general 17-18 psi a good/safe limit for (pump gas) boost for most tuners or even less for others but not the limit.

John made several good points. Here're several reasons why most tuners won't tuned more than 17psi of boost on pump gas. Climate changes daily. Your car can wear and tear differently from one to another. You can't expect one good tune will work in all climate w/o any changes in a/f ratio or EGT temp (which means you constantly adjust the a/f ratio to suit for that particular day/week/month. Unless the car already equipped with wideband and EGT where you can monitor them religously and also the owner of the vehicle knows what to look for, Most tuners will tune the car more towards the conservative side to widden the range of different climate changes. I'm sure that JD, NYT, and SPoauto knows what I'm talking about when it comes to regular mainteance with the car. *inspect spark plugs weekly, oil change more often, replace fuel filter every 5000-8000 miles and so on. It is alot more delicate and requires alot more work when you want to run higher boost on pump gas. I have ran 18-20psi on pump gas in the past but I would never tune anyone for that boost level unless the owner knows what to expect and what to *hear* for if something is out of ordinary.

Water injection is the best bet for being able to up the boost successfully. We have found substantial power gains and some serious ping reduction with the different cars that our ktis have been installed on.
408 at 15 psi on streetported t78 fd. Probably actually around 430 due to altitude and intake temps. Trying to get the latter taken care of. Pretty conservatively tuned also, wanted to be able to beat on it.

452rwhp at 16-17 psi with 93 octane
452rwhp at 16-17 psi with 93 octane. My turbo is a Turbonetics 62-1 with .96 a/r exhaust housing and P trim turbine wheel. Engine is street ported S4 with Jay tech intake manifold and Accel 4 bbls throttle body. It is street driven and I get terrible mileage with four 1600 cc injectors, but who cares. I run 20 psi ocassionally with no problems, but don't know the horsepower.
