Actually Matts car was producing 469RWHP @ 17psi (corrected for that days conditions).

Imagine what Matts car could do if you wer'nt sucking hot air into the intake directly out of the intake cooling and engine cooling devices.

Yeah, I never thought of that. Bryan, I am going to buy that 3rd gen Blue auto that Shawn has at Rotorsports. I will be getting in touch with you guys about building the motor for me. Thanks

The high hp and low boost sound great, but when in the power band are you guys making this amound of power, if is about 6500, to 7,200 rpms (just a down to earth example if using stock rev limiter)... i'm sorry but is useless to my taste, not saying anything bad is good if you drag and need big turbos, but i like responsive engines and love to see full boost at 3500. You guys should post when on the rpm band you guys are getting full boost.

Hey Sam, looks like nobody believes you. I guess I have to post your 9psi and 14psi dynocharts, to make some people believers.
It is all in the port and tuning

cool!

now do it on 91 without the injection j/k
nice work to whoever tuned it.. but witht he power coming in so late, might as well call it a race car, burn 110 or something and milk it for power.

what kind of turbo was that?

I went back to page 6 of this thread and I saw your graph and compared it to Robert's graph and it seems like your trq curve is almost exactly like Robert's at around 5.5k rpms (of course thats where the similarities end [and so does your trq]) so I'm curious when you say "but witht he power coming in so late, might as well call it a race car" does that mean your car is a race car ?

with over 500hp on PUMP GAS there really is no need to "milk it for power" but good luck milking your cow!

GREAT JOB ROB ON YOUR 500+ HP MONSTER (BTW you're still using it as a daily driver aren't ya?) or have turned into a "race car"?

No I'm not trying to be a dick, perhaps if you were to spend several thousand $ and hundreds of hours of work on your car you would understand what it takes to make 500+hp. then you get some idiot who obviously is a member of the fast and duh furious fan club claiming to know the difference between a street car and a racecar. when you're able to actually make some REAL hp you'll realize that it's better to shut up than blurb out stupid things like "might as well call it a race car"

your post would have been much more appreciated if you would have stopped at "cool"

Its funny how how when someone starts a post just to share info on these rotaries. someone has to hate and make a critical comment. My opinion is, if someone posts something and you like it. congradulate them, if you dont then just dont post anything at all. Ofcoarse you can post your negative remark, but then dont get upset if someone calls you out. You did ask for it. As for 91 octane. why the hell would i tune for 91 octane when there is 93 octane at the pump. only an idiot would build a car the way i did, If he or she was even capable of it and then turn around and only put in 91 octane. In the end, it makes no difference to me what you say. i take your opinion for what it is exactly, (your Opinion) and that dont mean nothing to me or the blue 93 mazda RX7 parked in my garage. Because after i hit enter and post quick reply on here. my car will still have 516 RWHP and yours will still have 386 rwhp.

Funny thing is, BigAl, your behaviour is just as ignorant as you are accusing Guitarjunkie of being. Your comments about him are as unsubstantiated as the ones you accuse him of making.

Not gonna get into it, but guitar knows a few things about building rx-7's and tuning them. At least from my few years around the forums.

Rob!
The problem is that a lot of people believe everything they read in here is written in gold and when someone proves different they all turn into the biggest haters.
Remember according to the rotary bible you can't make high horsepower with stock apex seals or if you rev your stock apex seal motor above 8000 rpm's it's gonna blow and the one I love the most is that you can't run more than 15 psi on pump gas.
I guess that makes you, me and others sinners for trying and proving them wrong!
BTW. I have lost count of how many cars I have running reliable at 20psi on pump 93 octane one of which made 515rwhp/422RWTQ at 20 psi and also runs at 22psi most of the time which also happens to be a 2nd gen running with a low tech Holley carb.

... I'm bringing this thread back because I would like to hear any updates about hp numbers on pump gas. I dynoed 467 @ 21... but I have been boosting up to 25 a long time ago... so I should be close to 500 with 93 oct w/o any AI (dynoed 550 @ 27 w/50% c116). I do know that Injection is a proven technology that should minimize the engine damage risk, but in my case I think the “help” is coming from the seals (RA)... but what would be the downside on the seals absorbing so much while everything else in the engine stays the same; meaning no cryoed parts or like deterioration still occurring since no chamber temperature drop occurs due to auxiliary injection?? ... i'm just curious about what to expect in the next tear down!! ... car is been like that more than a year ago.... and still perform like the 1st time... on the seals my only complain is the long-crank starting under racing temperature conditions...

My mates mazda ran 11.2 @ 131.65mph last night on basic pump gas alone full street trim on normal road tires, no WI either. Drove there and back home after 3 runs, 5th meeting he has done with car not to mention numerous dyno runs and street tuning

He has a honest 500bhp engine on 17psi odd boost. Totaly reliable too, daily driver.
