I have a question on the physical size of the TO4S and GT35R, I was wondering if anyone dimensions of the turbos, for the turbine housing. What I am looking for would be mounting a GT35R turbo to a HKS T04S turbo kit, if its possible...

 

Will fit if you use a T4 based turbine housing. Call A-Spec, they sell them.

 

T4 based as in a real T4 not a T3 with T4 flange, right? I assume I would want the same A/R as what is in there?

 

Do a search, this has been covered extensively. The GT35R can be bought from A-Spec with a REAL T4 turbine housings in a couple different A/R's. There is also a T4 foot printed T3 turbine available from other sources as well, but they do not flow like a true T4 and they are open valute and not divided. Physically the GT35R and T04S (aka: 60-1) use the same compressor housing (T04S).

I guess you missed my point/question... I know there are different turbine hosuings for the GT35R, but I would want the REAL T4 not the T3 w/T4 foot?? What I am looking at is swapping the GT35r in and still using the same downpipe.

 

Does the HKS kit use a stamped steel 3" vband flange?

 

Dependsd on the downpipe style. Should be a V band flange and therefore it should bolt up, but if not, you can always modify it.

 

You will need a T4 turbine housing for the GT35R, like I've said 3 times now. And the chances of the GT35R disscharge/v-band fitting were your T04S was is very slim. Your most likely going to have to modify it some way for the Down Pipe to fit, even though it will be in some what the same location. Your going to see simular power, and minimal spool differences between these two turbo's if you had a 60-1 and run simular turbine housing A/R's btw......

If I'm not mistaken, a 62-1 will fit in the same footprint as a 60-1. Turbonetics is selling them these days and you can get a BB version with a few different T4 turbine housings (maybe even re-use your existing housing); might be something to consider.
