fuel?

Did you change your fuel filter and upgrade your fuel pump? You could be running out of fuel.

FUEL GAUGE IS A MUST!

Do you have a fuel gauge? If not you should get one. It helps out alot when troubleshooting. Chances are if you have the stock pump and dumping alot of fuel you are running out of it also.

hmmmmmm, well................nothing is wrong with your car. Your turbo will glow regardless of fuel setup, or even the turbo thats on the car. its completely normal, and happens regardless of how hard you drive the car. it can get that hot cruising, or just lugging around town putting a load on the motor.

now........running 10psi on a To4 with a streetported motor and a STOCK IC is pretty gay

what exactly ARE your complete fuel upgrades ?

thats normal

you need to get an exhaust gas temp gauge. i have a stainless manifold and it gets red at about 500 deg C and is neon red at about 900 deg C which is the perfect a/f

My exhaust manifold (stainless steel) glows but the turbo itself has never glowed, at least not to my knowledge, not even on a 4th gear dyno pull (long!).

Hey, Anything is possible.

Install an Exhaust Gas Temp Gauge (EGT) and you will no for sure if your "Glowing" is getting out of control.

Please include all of the possibilities whne commenting!

While running lean can cause the manifold and or hotside to glow, it is not the only possibility. Timing that is overly retarded can do the same, as well as timing that is overly advanced.

retarded timing will leave too much unburnt fuel in the exhaust stream which will then burn in the manifold, or hotside snail causing them to glow.

Timing that is too far advanced will cause pre-ignition that will also cause them to glow.

Lastly but not least is being to lean which causes elevated temps as mentioned above, although i suspect you would get alean misfire that would be noticeable at upper RPM's.
