Didn't you say the s475 with that 1.32 spooled better for you than a non BB 42 on a SP engine?

My 42 got perty banged up and am thinking of sticking on a t6 flange and one of these, for the price you cant beat it

I don't have any hard data or datalogs but it "felt" like it spooled a hell of a lot faster. And the motor it is on is a stock port, yes unported.

I'm not sure if they were quoting him MSRP or what. They're a enormous dealer and have about 20 S400's sitting on the shelf among 1,000's of other turbos on shelves.

I was waiting to see how long it would take before someone would call Jess and he would tell them uh... no. Price for those through Jess will vary from $600 on up depending on what custom work you want done. Example, getting a 1.25 exhaust housing to fit on a 96mm turbine requires some custom machine work so add that to your $600. They are not cheap but they can do most things that no other turbo house can, including the well known names like Precision. Most of the guys I know run the 1.32 because of price. I'm not a big fan of overly sized turbine housings go too big and it will fall on it's face up top. You also can't really compare "S400's" to 42R's. To be fair it would need to be compared to both 42's as well as 45's and even 47's in some instances.

I had kinda thought you might know those guys since they're somewhat local to you. I usually talk to Jess or Val, they've always been real helpful with hard to find things. I won't get too much into it since that's your business

Thanks for the flanges, they worked out fantastic !

Can you explain this? wouldn't that be the strong point of a large housing?

And i have another question, does anyone know the specs of a ht3b? I cant really find anything excpept i beleive they have a 75mm ind. and are a t6 footprint?, are they similar to a s475? or just older technology? because those are cheap aswell

And how do you convert between cm^2 and A/R?

Viking War Hammer, i beleive you ended up with my best friends TB..... Made me sad everyday i saw that work of art just sitting there and it wasnt on my car

Not trying to get the thread too off topic, i just hate starting my own thread, sorry

On a larger housing if you tend to go too big you can have too much air passing by the turbine meaning you simply can't spin the turbo any faster. The motor will not provide enough velocity for the wheel. For me personally 99% of the apps out there will work with a 1.0, 1.1, 1.15, or a 1.25. the 1.32 can work but from what I've seen it hasn't offered any real benefit over the 1.25 in almost all instances.

1.15. Also not to be misleading about it i changed the entire induction system with the turbos. I wouldn't base anything on my experiences, there are too many variables.

Looks like your typical 8 injector throttlebody and you can see the mechanical fuel pump to your lower right hand corner. Alcohol car......... he did say that he had his S400 upgraded to the 80mm wheel.

Does anyone know of a short runner manifold that will fit the s400? I really dont feel like building a manifold... I've just got way to many other cars to work on.

a GT42 manifold T4 or T6 will work on BW's
You can order a S400 with a .96 T4 housing too

Well my R85 has a t6 1.15 a/r on the turbine so I definitely wouldn't go to a .96 t4. I'm asking about the fit of the manifold as if you look at A-spec's 42r manifold the turbine housing is right next to the strut housing... Now, the s400 has a larger turbine housing so I'm just wondering about the tightness factor.

Thanks, Viking! I just ordered these from airflo.com for my S475 turbo. The V-band is now $29, and the flange is $13. Still cheap in my book...

It's possible to get it cheaper with further research and calling around to trucking companies but I'm tired of searching.

The s400 utilizes their ETT (extended tip technology) and flows quite well even with the smaller compressor wheel. Remove the housing and check it out.
I used to have an s200 and it was a nice little turbo.
