turbo is gone. car was sold. can't do that for you sorry. It was 3 years ago.
Most of the weight is in the turbine housing. turbo had s/s vband housing and was extremely light.
There custom made, expensive, and rare that's why your having a hard time believing it.
Most people have never seen them.
There were used in Leman's on the cadallic race car.
I used to build headers for a living so i've seen quite a few turbo's in my time.

I doubt this $10,000 turbo ended up in a Honda though.

Yes, there were a few issues and parts missing. I was one of the first guys who ordered it and put it on a car. I was working with Demetrios and Keith to get through some of these things, and then someone shoots off his mouth.
Now someone seems to be implying that Steve wasn't willing to tune my car to its full potential? Where does this $hit come from? For the record, Mustang Ranch was very unaccomodating. I do track events with the Shelby Club all the time and I know that several of the cars are as loud or louder than mine, and they do a lot of their tuning on the Mustang Ranch dyno. Nevertheless, they wanted me off the dyno after only about 2-3 pulls. Steve had nothing to do with this and seemed just as irritated as I was that we had to pull my car off. He spent all day with me Sunday - putting in the resistors in the morning and street tuning the car all afternoon.
He had absolutely NOTHING negative to say about the kit on my car, and I never had any reason to believe he wasn't doing his best to tune my car. I specifically requested the car run rich since here in CA the best gas we get is 91 Octane - not the 93-94 available in other parts of the country. I also road race the car, and it has to run for 25-30 minute sessions at full boost continuously. That's a lot more taxing than a 10-11 second quarter-mile burst. In fact, Steve actually commented that the turbo seemed to have good response and that it obviously flows well.
I need guys like Steve to help tune my car and am grateful he came out here and did that. I need guys like Keith and Dee to stand by their work and work with me to get through teething issues, and they've been doing that. I wish you guys who keep referencing my car in discussions that do nothing but **** these guys off would just keep me out of it.
I've been trying to do all my stuff in private, but it's amazing and disappointing how it gets public so quickly.

I really don't understand why your so pissed off at me. What part of what I said offended you? What part was not true? Just curious why your taking such offense. I said if anything I heard was untrue, that I appoligize. Everyone take a big breath. In with the good, out w/ the bad......

In both of these cases, people I still need for various reasons to stand by their work just get pissed - possibly directly at me, despite the fact that I had nothing to do with any of these comments. The fact is, unless Demetrios is going to fly around the country to tune every R85 kit out there, some of us have to rely on other people to tune them. There aren't a lot of knowledgeable and experienced tuners around, and for those of us who don't live in the mid-Atlantic, hopefully Demetrios isn't the only guy out there who can get 430+ rwhp out of the kit. If people just sit around and criticize the people who try, it only makes things worse.
This all reminds me of the old Kevin Wyum and Peter Farrell bad blood. When I was working in Minneapolis for a few months, Kevin was reluctant to even talk to me just because I had bought PFS stuff and put it on my car.
Why can't we all just get along . . .

I know what the turbos are....or at least what the compressor housings came from. That top turbo looks mighty high up. Well higher than the collant cap...are you guys sure that the turbo and the ic pipe is going to clear the hood?

Everything clears my hood, but I'm not sure I'm a good benchmark. I have a replica Mazdaspeed hood in fiberglass/CF. It has slightly more clearance because there isn't as much bracing underneath. It also doesn't have the insulating foam.
I will say that it's a bit tight, but the whole M2 large IC and piping has very little clearance too. In fact, the older M2 piping would even rub the R1 strut tower bar. I used a 90-degree silicone bend right out of the turbo. I don't think there is any other way to clear the hood, but other guys might have other ideas. I can take a pic of my install if people are interested. I probably won't be able to do it until next week though. The car is back in storage until the next track event and I don't have time to get out to the warehouse this week.
