Spy Shot!

Reactive Racing is developing a twin turbo kit with turbos based off the r-85.

My car is the doner car for the project.

enjoy

It's donor you boner. :D
Seriously though Bobby it looks like its going to be killer. Good luck.

zinx 11-22-04 09:17 PM

What RPM are you expecting full boost and how much? And what kind of HP?

eViLRotor 11-22-04 09:21 PM

WOOOW!!!!

ErnieT 11-22-04 09:43 PM

Expecting over 500rwhp on pump gas at 15psi. Im sure all that haters out there will chime in. Some tuners are afraid to even tune the Reactive Racing kits for fear they will make more power then other shop kits. Just ask Steve Kan....:)

nyt 11-22-04 09:46 PM

arent those turbos a little big?

Very Very UBER......:)

rfreeman27 11-22-04 09:58 PM

Earnie sturrin the pot I see..

I was going to hold out on HP claims untill i could actually dyno the beast...But yeah its gonna make some power...

turbos are a little big...LMAO

nyt 11-22-04 09:59 PM

.. no specs?

Jason 11-22-04 10:15 PM

Holy lag :)

rfreeman27 11-22-04 10:26 PM

im gonna hold on to the turbo specs right now.

And I honestly dont think the lag will be bad...due to the design of the turbo...only time will tell :)

rfreeman27 11-22-04 10:37 PM

And honestly how do you know what kind of lag it will have. You know NOTHING about the turbos...

And for thoes of you asking what rpm i will see boost...i honestly dont know. These turbos were custom built for me...so i should be the first using this exact combination.

nyt 11-22-04 10:41 PM

... he can make an educated guess by the size of the compressor in the picture...

for one id assume lag, but i wish you best of luck. not many people doing the twin turbo thing.

stangkilr 11-22-04 10:46 PM

that should be quite boring to drive under 6k rpm...should have just bought 2 paper weights...

rfreeman27 11-22-04 10:58 PM

I honestly dont know how y'all can say these things when you dont know anything about the turbos!

I honestly dont think lag is going to be a Major concern.

The car is going to be set up for drag racing primarily (jerico 4 speed...etc..) so lag isnt even a huge concern to me. Sure it wolnt spool like my old t04s. But then again the forum said that turbo would be laggy with a 1.0 a/r on an unported motor.

I honestly dont even want to get into that issue. We shall see when the car is finished!

Isn't an "r-85" based on a GT3540?
I'm probably wrong, but those turbos don't look like like a GT35R?

Black97VR4 11-23-04 01:47 AM

The R85 isn't based on Garrett turbos but a decent comparison is the GT40R.

jspecracer7 11-23-04 06:09 AM

I know IGY's car with twin T04S's and the wrong size exhaust housings was over 400 hp at 12 psi so Bobby's car should do much better.

Besides...my thoughs are when you can tune a car like Demetrios can...then you have room to talk.

2a+RoN 11-23-04 08:53 AM

i'm getting pretty excited about this. Can't wait to see the turbine specs...

zinx 11-23-04 09:58 AM

How are you planning on doing the exhaust?

And this is just a thought on twins, is it better to just run one turbo from one rotor, or to combine the exhaust gasses and then split it off? Its seems like two turbos would be hard to control.

pluto 11-23-04 10:20 AM

Ernie,
what's this suppose to mean???

pianoprodigy 11-23-04 10:26 AM

Wow, looks ridiculous to me. To revive a question asked earlier, is each turbo spooled by a rotor individually or does the manifold collect then divide?

At what point do you need to upgrade the UIM & LIM to support such a huge volume of air? Wouldn't they be a restriction with that much air?

Zero R 11-23-04 10:35 AM

My guess is borg warner turbo's, and Lag is relative togues its how much lag you can handle
