Premix Question Klotz R50
#4
Klotz R50 is not alcohol compatible which means it wont mix and gel up. So E85 or meth users should not be using it. Its a full synthetic oil which I personally dont like for my own reasons.
Castrol 747A is a semi synthetic.. it uses castor oil which I love mixed with there own syn blend of something... awesome smell. this is really good 2 stroke oil. best of both worlds.. not sure how it mixes with other fuels since I only used this in my 2 strokes.
I have been using Maxima 927 Castor oil in my car with E85.. This is good stuff too its a pure castor oil which is bean oil i think.. its natural stuff with some synthetic additives to make it burn cleaner and thats about it.. mixes great with all fuels. I go thru a gallon of this a month whether in my car or bikes or go karts. never had a problem.
Blendzall is another awesome oil.. also a castor oil.. prob the best around
Dont like Amsoil. that doesnt mix well with alcohol either.

The manufacture states that Castrol A747 is a very high performance, low ash, part synthetic lubricant with castor oil, specially formulated for use in multi-cylinder, water-cooled two stroke engines fitted to road racing machines, where combustion chamber deposit control is essential.
However, I`ve just changed my fuel filter and took a sample of fuel from the outlet side / hose leading towards the motor. I notice the oil wasn`t totally desolved within the fuel (hence the question was raised).
I`ve used Amsoil Dominator Synthetic in the past and after disassembling a motor with many miles (for a cracked corner seal) the motor internally was clean as a whistle (beyond belief).
I started to use the Castrol A747 because I got a case of 12 quarts for 30.00 (very cheap). But, I`m running out and so i need a decent alternative.
Keep the recommendations coming, thanks.

while i am extremely picky about my crankcase motor oil... i will not run anything but Mobil 1 5-30.... i am exactly the opposite w my premix. IMO any TCW3 rated 2 cycle oil will do. i buy the Tech stuff from Walmart at $10 a gallon.
i did open my motor after 4 years and 14,000 miles (including over 120 4th gear dyno runs) and there was no carbon build anywhere. that's after 2 years running 1400 CC/Min of meth.
BTW, i do not put anything in the meth. straight alcohol. some meth additives are bad for the pump. certain internals work well w alcohol but not w gasoline.
i do not recommend using the EOP unless you rig it so it uses 2 cycle and not the dirty 4 cycle oil from the crankcase.

i just bought a car a few weeks ago that the previous owner was mixing TCW3 with E85, id beti have a nice pile of TCW sludge in the bottom of my fuel tank I can attest the inside of that motor looked like it wasn't pre-mixed enough and some of the seals were dry.

I'm about to start running meth, 1200cc/min, but it wont be on that often, just a hard pull in scramble mode once in a while.
The previous owner of my car was using 6ounces of klotz per fill up.
How much do you use Howard? and just to make sure, you use any type of TCW3 in the gas tank, and that doesn't interfere with the meth at all?

The previous owner had once had the car tuned at PFS, and they had gone through the car and made a list of notes for him. On it, it says 8oz of premix/tank, it was crossed off and says 6/oz.
Not sure who made the change. I've upgraded the car quite a bit, but I've been using 6oz/tank, when i go to get tuned I'll check with Ray at PFS and make sure its ok.
So I guess your 5oz may be a bit low.

I assume that it must vary from the type of oil you use for premix, because, Pettit Racing recommends 4 oz. of there Pro-Tech R / fill up.

im preparing to make the switch to E85 and was wondering if anyone has had problems with oil seperating after extended periods of time. I drive the car at most once a week and only fuel it bi-weekly or monthly. Im a little concerned that the oil will not stay suspended.
