Nothing But T88 Baby....

Though turbo size is not always the answer i decided to go with the T88. Now I know what you guys are going to say "LAG". But i figure that everything is worth a try right???

The story is that i got my hands on a Ball Bearing Greddy Sponsership Turbo that orginally came off an unamed pro drag car. And lets not even mention the price cause i got and unbelievable steal. Anyways what are you opinions on this?

Im running a Large Street Port and 3mm seals. Of course i have everything to go along with it. (i.e. haltech, front mount, and 3inch piping basically everywhere)

I can't wait to see what type of numbers you put down, I think you will be able to crack 450 rwhp @ 16 psi with proper tuning. Even more importantly, I would like to see the dyno graph of it... where power comes on strong and such.

Notice the little pic in my signature. That's a T88

Was this turbo off a rotary? If so I would take the exhaust housing off and make sure it didnt have a seal go thru it.

plus if it's off a pro drag car, check to see if the turbine wheel and housing, and chra aren't melted. those guys use a ton of anti-lag.

Yea im really interested to see what kinda numbers this turbo puts down. I imagine that the power will come in around that of a T78 maybe a little higher since it's ball bearing. And no the turbo is in great shape it came off a H22a and it only has around 15 track runs on, appearently the previous owner got in am argument with greddy and basically just took the turbo off his car and sold it.

Yea im well aware of seals exiting through the exhaust housing been there with my T04e and it even took out my egt probe on its magical journey out my exhaust pipe.

BB is just for quicker spool up time. Generally about 500-600 rpm sooner. It can make slightly more power, but not much of a difference really.

I think i might have been misunderstood. When i said that power will come in around the T78, i meant that it will spool around the same time as a T78 maybe a little higher by 100-200 rpm. Does anybody here have experience with a regular T88 on thier FD by the way???
