Wasn't what I meant. There were people changing the entire thread by arguing about stupid off-topic things. Its all good.

I have been subscribed to this thread as it seams to be of some interest. LUPE does not deserve any of the childish behavior on his thread. I think a moderator needs to pay closer attention and give fare warning to disrespectful posts which are not waranted. Just my 2 cents.

Lupe, i wish you the best with the project and keep posting as there are some readers like myself who find you project interesting and look forward to any information that might help from others experience. I thought that was the idea of a "forum"

ANyway... I've talked to the guys at Davinci, Eric's car is what it says it is.... he's got a nice *** ride.. and there is no reason for him to lie about his setup... it would be one thing if the weight wasn't possible. Had eric said his car weighed 1900 lbs, I'd begin the questioning =)
I don't need to get women anymore.

I've retired .

If Steve Burkett at Tuxedo Park Racing did the weighing on the car, then it's accurate ... why the hell would Eric need to waste his time posting a video of the car being weighed? It's legit, game over. And if Steve Burkett/Steve Kan did the dyno run, it's legit ... game over.

Eric has those numbers, this year we'll see if he can put up the 1/4 mile numbers too!

Oh, and the last thing this site needs more of is Arkansas Liberals who swap V8's into RX-7's!

I can't believe this, but I am going to have to agree with Eric on this one and include a few other points:

In regards to his dyno numbers, whether they are corrected, uncorrected, comparable to X brand dyno, etc. I will quote Mr. Ben Strader, of EFI101:

"When testing the calibration on your vehicle, the dyno should be used to obtain, store and display information about how the vehicle performs. What the actual numbers are, is really irrelevant to the tuning process, because what we are really trying to see is the CHANGE in performance caused by alterations we make to the program controlling the engine.

We are concerned mainly with what happens to the engine output when we make a particular change to either the fuel or ignition calibration. In order to see that, we care more that our dyno is repeatable and less what the real numbers are.

For example, who cares if the car I'm testing produces a reading of 335hp on the dyno I'm using, when it made 342hp on some else's? What I really care is that if my reading is 335 on this pass and I make a change to ignition or air/fuel ratio that the dyno reacts to that change and displays it"

In regards to his previous times at the track, you guys have to remember that Eric is still on the stock FD transmission. Even with the weight out of his car, it still is not able to handle powershifting, hard shifts, etc at his torque/HP levels. Getting a good 60' with his straight axle non-IRS suspension is only half of the equation, the car still has to go straight, stay in boost, and be shifted appropriately.

Kudos to Eric for pushing the envelope and showing us how things can be done!

Regards,

Mike

umm....noone is saying that a dyno doesnt serve a purpose. We are saying its nice to see a 1/4 slip that backs up a dyno graph. For example, i see a ton of people claiming 360rwhp ons tock twins that trap 110mph. obviously soemthing doesnt addd up.

You'll all just have to be patient ... today it's 70 degrees here in St Louis, tomorrow it'll be 30 and snowing. I'm sure the first thing Eric is going to do when the track opens is see what it'll do. I have no doubt his car can run a 9 second pass, we'll just have to wait and see if it does.

Great numbers! Steven is a very good tuner! I can't wait to see how your car does at the track!

Just curious, what is your best time/mph before now at the track and what kind of HP/torque numbers were you putting down then?

I only ran it once because they kicked me out afterwards. I ran a pathetic 10.74@128. I can't drive and it didn't help that I lifted on the big end. My car started to shoot towards the wall and caused sand and rocks to fly everywhere. I got spooked and lifted.

There's no shame in lifting when that feels like the right thing to do; you can always make another pass if your car is together. Btw, there is nothing pathetic about that time and mph!

What were the HP and torque numbers for your car when that pass was made?

Previous dyno was 455whp but the dyno operator said it read low so, we really don't know how much HP I had.

My 94 FD weighs in at 2400lbs without me in it and that was before the Aerospace drag brakes. I'd be interested to see what it weighs now. My car has a 12pt. chromoly cage and all. It has no abs,ac,ps (converted to Pinto manual rack),fiberglass fenders,Fal rear glass w/cf hatch,Bogarts, custom AFCO coil-overs,etc.....

It's more than possible to get an FD down to his weight especially with the rear end setup. I don't understand why people would be doubting so much.

What Crispeed said.......we're (Virtual Works) almost to our finish point though. This weekend will tell the story if all the HARD work has paid off. If everything goes as planned (like it ever does) we hope to run some low low 8's and finally harness the 1400+rwhp the car has.

After this weekend my car comes back in the shop to be finished up. I'll have some new pics up soon of the sweet *** coil-over setup in the rear and the new chromoly a-arms up front. I really hope to have it FINALLY running within the next month and on the track dialing it in by April.

I can't wait to see when some of the big # cars finally hit the track!!! It seems like forever since i've seen/heard of a 9 sec pass out of an FD. I think that needs to change very very soon.
