Need to know if i should boost my 6 port fc
Hey guys i baught my first fc and i love it. I need to know if i should turbo my 6 port or if i should get a 4 port???? Ive heard that it has too high of a compretion and if i use it i should run fd rotars and bore out my apex seals 3mm and run ceramic ones. What should i do??? I want to drift it and theirs not many people that know about rotarys in kelowna. Im geting a 88 turbo 2 setup from a friend on here so i know it works i just want to make the right decision on what moter to run. If you guy could help that would be awsome. Thanks guys.
Such a very loaded question....
What are your power goals?
Are you mechanically inclined?
Do you have tools, work space, and money to complete the swap?
You need to spend LOTS of time reading and researching these cars. Take your time, save your money and do it right.

Its a 89 gxl s5. And im good with a wrench ive been doing swaps for years ive just never dabbled into the rotary but always wanted too. As far as money im going up north to the coal mines to work so that wont be an issue. I deffenitly want to do it right so i will take my time and ask all the questions and read up on everything i need to know before i jump into it. I really wouldnt want more the three to four hundred hp i find you dont need alot in a fc to roast most people or to drift. My budys 88 t2 wich is pushing much more the two hun roasts my budys skyline gt awd and hes pushing high three hun hp. Lol love it cause the fc is prity much stock and the rb is built up with *** loads of stuff. I love rotarys lol

The (Almost) Complete Guide To Turbocharging The Naturally Aspirated Second Generation RX-7
The most difficult part, IMO, of a turbo 6-port is that there is no off-the-shelf engine management unit you can just plug in and go. You need a whole map created from scratch. There are some other, less sophisticated ways it can be done, but it usually requires someone pretty familiar with tuning rotaries that is doing something on the cheap.
I'd suggest swapping in a turbo engine because you said there aren't many local people that know about rotaries, thus no local tuner. Get it in and get it going first. Upgrading comes later after a lot more reading.

Ok cool. Is the 89 jdm turbo a 6 port or a 4 port??? I know the 89 has more hp then the 88. And my budy at classified motersports sead he can get me the hole thing for under $2000.00 and thats everything i need to plug and play.

All turbo engines are 4 port.
The turbo ecu will run a 6p-t just fine, you just need the turbo accessories. Swap over to the turbo manifolds, grab a hybrid turbo and you can pick up an Rtek. 300+ whp all day.

There's a few of us who have it done it right. I did the 6 port turbo setup in my fb. Checkout my build thread if you want. I posted a lot of info about my setup.
