Name this turbo

Becides being a Holset what can you guys tell me about it? On the tag it says the type (H1E) and engine (RE.26414). All I know is it came off some kind of equipment that had a large inline 6 diesel (500 something cid). Anyone out there know if this is worth putting on my cosmo engine with stock ports? What kind of hp can this thing give me @ 15psi and how much boost threshold are we talkin?

I talked to a turbo guy and he said the compressor has technology from the 60's and the exh housing is probably too big. Do I have any other opinions out there? I'm looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of 375-400rwhp out of my stock cosmo.

That exhaust housing looks far too big and the compressor too small.

Might work!!

turbos have been in use and development since the teens/20's... it's only fairly recently (like the 50's/60's) that materials and production techniques developed to the point where they could be mass produced effectively.
