A Little Taste: PFS tuned and built ......w/..GT 42R

Ray has ported and clearanced my engine for the high boost I want to run (30+psi) and has modded the GT42R kit I bought, to work. The turbo kit is from A-Spec. The hood has to have one of the braces taken out for it to close as the manifold from A-spec had the turbo a bit high. Although Ray had to do some modifications for it to work, its looking good. Hope to be done and tuned by Friday, Nov. 4.
I want to give huge props to Ray. He has went out of his way to fix alot of things for me with the motor, turbo kit, wiring, ...........hell just about every damn thing under the hood!

Hey Ernie, is that the T4 housing or the T6 housing? The pictures look great by the way! I can't wait to see what kind of numbers you'll be putting down.

Boy that setup looks alot like mine. Why is the turbo up so high? How long are the manifold runners? Are they equal length? I would love to run 30+psi on my car. I dont have the ***** though.

Ernie, if you're going to run 30+ psi with an aggressive tune, you'll be over 600 rwhp easy!

make sure you get nice cold plugs

11's NGK
don't try tighten them
enough where they don't come loose
(you don't want a electrode coming off and into your engine)

C16 with some Premix oil
and your good to go

Nice setup Ernie. Do you have any closeup pics of the turbo in the engine bay? -Same question for you AZ'sFastFD3S. I'm trying to see where you guys mounted them in relation to the shock tower, box supports around the tower and LIM.

I have heard nothing but good things about Ray Wilson. I think your project is in great hands.

The runners are exactly equal length, it sits as high as it does because of runner length and it allows more options for IC plumbing and a few other little things. It's looking good. Can't wait to see it perform. Should do really well!!

i know its a little late, but i had a bit of a problem with this as well with my engine re-install. i thought it had something to do with my car being out of whack or something. . . but i was wrong. i installed the motor w/o correctly aligning the engine/transmission to the PPF. get under the car with a jack, support the transmission with said jack, and loosen the corresponding PPF nuts. then with said jack, jack up the transmission until it levels out the engine in the bay. i had serious problems with my exhaust and bov rubbing on everything because of this. when i finally figured it out. . . it made things A LOT easier.

that maybe what your problem is, as well. just try that and see if it helps. especially if youve had exhaust alignment problems lately.

So I guess this will be one hell of a road course car

Seriously though you're nuts. I gave you a ride in my car, now it's my turn to get a ride in yours when it's all done. Congratulations, can't wait to check it out.

You can ride shotgun during test and tune Nov. 6. I'll be running only 30psi
