injector help?

Recently my engine popped and it will be rebuilt. I was looking into upgrading the injectors in my 89 t2. I have an fd fuel pump already and was wondering if I could use fd injectors? I'm not sure of the size of them. I want to use 720's. Any help would be appreciated.

Fd injectors are side feed, and will not work.

You will need some sort of ecu to control the bigger fuel injector properly. If you are on the stock turbo just stick with stock primaries and add a pair of ID1000s for secondaries.

Stock ecu can only control stock injectors.

What I was thinking was, sending the ecu to rtek and having the stage 1.8 chip installed.

Or am I wasting my time with rtek? I just want to safeguard my engine from blowing again.

Don't go with Rtek unless you get the 2.1 . It's fine for stock ECU and really any bolt on turbo. The 2.1 lets you adjust parameters in the ECU, and the 1.8 and 1.7 don't. It does use an old Palm OS software currently, but you can use an emulator. I've posted ignition timing maps in the Rtek section of this forum that most Rtek 2.1 users are using in some form or another. See this thread on Rtek tuning https://www.rx7club.com/rtek-forum-1...ethods-827389/
