I've had great luck with the Exedy Hyper Single. Very streetable! Granted I only have about 5k on it but so far so good.

I'm running a ACT HD with a sprung 6 puck. Probably best bang for your buck if your car is primarily street driven.

How's the unsprung? I was deciding between the two but went sprung for some street use

Ditto. good clutch. My previous clutch was a jesus cross unsprung, and exedy HD PP in 8.5". it was a light switch amd couldn't hold 3rd gear 100%. Running 9" act 6 puck sprung and their 2nd heaviest pressure plate now, it just grips and is much easier to modulate. Phyisically heavy though - even with the lightest swiss cheese steel flywheel, it weighs in pretty heavy.

If you're worried about how the pedal feels with an aftermarket clutch its time to hang up the car keys.

I don't make 500whp but I do make 400wtq, which is more then cars I've tuned at 500whp put down and is what your clutch is actually fighting against. Exedy hyper single wouldn't hold it, ACT HD pressure plate and ACT 6 puck sprung disk, holds the power all day long. That and as you've seen from the other forum members; it's proven.

It really comes down to that or cough up the crazy money for a Exedy twin disk. The ACT clutch is not as bad as some are making it out to be, but if you're going for big boy numbers you are going to have to make sacrifices. Big boy clutch is one of them.

I have 3 herniated discs and I'm using this same clutch, ACT sprung Six puck. Its holding even at 810RWHP (Dynojet) / 703RWHP (dual eddy current mustang dyno, Steve Kans Dyno). I honestly don't notice too much of a difference from stock other then it engages right away. I also have to mention since my 13B is a full bridge, I idle at 1500-1600 RPMS so it might be a little different than if you had a stock idle.

Over 6000 miles on the clutch and its still holding, I think the torque rating is 575 ft/lbs, I'm under that a little for what its worth.

Can't beat it for the price especially compared to a triple plate.

Do any of you guys flat shift? And if so, how does your clutch handle it? I have found that if you're flat shifting, the torque rating of the clutch needs to be substantially greater than the mfg's published static ratings (and your engine's output) to hold, otherwise it will slip if the tires bite in the higher gears.

Spec 3? Its GARBAGE, don't waste your money on it!

The spec 3 setup for the FC3s started slipping at 350 RWHP on my fc. Don't have any input on the spec 4, since I went with the ACT organic disc and the second heaviest plate, so far so good at 350rwp

Yeah 703 RWHP on Steve Kans mustang dyno at 23 pounds of boost. for video go to you tube and type: afawaterpolo (thats my user name). It'll bring up the dyno videos. For anyone who calls B.S., Steve can verify as he was there while my car was being tuned.

As far as flat shift is concerned, we haven't tried it yet but will soon, setting up the Motec so we can do that.

504whp/417ftlbs

ACT sprung 6puck and Heavy Duty pressure plate. Rated at 512 ftlbs it holds my power all day. Driveability is great. Grabby but nothing extreme. Love it.
